Protein Shots!!

So I found a way to get in all my protein for the day. I been taking a protein shot daily it has 26 grams of protein and only 110 calories. I guess what I wanted to ask is it ok to take a protein shot on a daily basis? is it safe?

I believe as long as you don't take more than 50+ grams of protein at one time, it's fine. Most servings of lean meat are about 20 grams of protein so it should be just fine. What is the name of it? I have been struggling to get in a full 8-10 oz of protein drink in and would like to find something smaller volume with the same amount of protein.

Walmart sells the protein shots for $1.97. I have only seen the fruit punch flavor.

I have used these shots in the past too, particularly right before and after surgery when the clear liquid diet phase was active but you have to be careful that you do not use these as a "meal Replacement" because they lack alot of the other nutrients that your body needs. The protein shakes which are specifically formulated for meal replacement such as the isopure, atkins, etc have alot of other nutrients that we need and are ok to substitute for a meal. These protein shots though were a life saver when I was on the clear liquid diet, I would dilute them in a big glass of ice water and just drink it throughout the day. I still use them from time to time when I think my protein is severly lacking for the day but not very often.

The bad thing about these energy and protein shots is the fact that they come with no amino acids or creatine to help you get the most of the protein your bringing in.

Protein is the raw material to build muscle but amino acids and creatine are the catalysts. Without them you won’t spark much protein synthesis and you won’t break down much muscle to help new muscle grow to take its place.

I bought them .. lots of them on sale .. but they are sooo horrible, I can't even look at the bootle without feeling sick.. even writing about them.. oh nonono... never again will I drink that :O)
