    Question Phase 3

My week 3 starts on the 25th, did you wait on Dr. orders to move on to purees or did you just go by the calendar to start phase 3?

I didnt have my post op visit with my doctor until midway week 3 since he was on vacation. I started week 3 on purees with a tiny bite of egg salad and waited to see how my body reacted. Take tiny bites and wait a minute or two to see how you react to it. If you feel sick go back to your full liquids. I've been told as I progress if I feel any nausea or sickness while progressing onto a new phase of food to go back to the previous until you can handle it. It's not so much ok I can eat purees now, its more ok I can start trying to eat purees now. Many people are still including protein shakes in their diet a year down the way. Everyone works different and if your body cant handle it its nothing to be ashamed of, just don't push yourself.

i think you shoudl be ok to start that, just listen to your body. I'm at about your same phase and i am now eating yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, cream of wheat and cream soups. i'm adding eggs and sweet potatoes this week. I think the main thing is to see how you react to adding additional foods. Best of luck!!

I started purees at I think 12 days post op. That is when my 2 week post op appt was and the nutritionist told me I could go ahead and start pureed. I started very slowly. It is quite an adjustment to start eating again.
