    Morning!
    Yesterday I ate out for hte first time.
    Breakfast, 1 egg.
    Lunch at a restaurant, I ordered the broiled seafood plate. PIcked at eat type of fish, then asked for a take out box. They also had an amazing fish stew which I also ordered for takeout, since they dont do takeout, they were very nice in simply bringing it out ot me in a container in a bad rather than a bowl. I picked at eat for dinner and will continue through today and possibly tomorrow. ANd two bad things, I also had a glass of wine, which I managed to drink about 1/3 of it...and a cookie on the way home.....I thought pretty good for my first day out since surgery with friends, drinking and eating...

    I'm going back to basics! I've been doing a lot of grazing, and I have to stop it pronto!
    Amazing how old habits come roaring back!

    I don't come to the forum much anymore. Your thread popped up in my email as a thread I was posting in. The timing is great and I am greatly in need of a tune up myself. I was at goal 152 and have gained. I wasn't sure if I really needed to be that small, it was just the number on the scale when I stopped my weight loss. I started grazing. Yes, the deadly act. I have started to clean things up and it is starting to pay off. I might start posting my meals too.

    So far today:
    3 cups of coffee with frothed skim milk and regular flavored creamer.

    See a problem?

    What type of protein bars to you eat? I have never been able to find any that weren't high in fat, carbs and calories.

    Alright, that makes 3 of us who are going back to basics! I say this every winter for the last 4 years at least; I hate the winter and it does me in with grazing more as I'm sitting around more at night Retiring in a couple of years and moving to Florida where it's warm and I can move around outside more. I was on vacation and just returned so there was a gain of 5 lbs from vacation, but I'm at my higher goal weight and I want to lose at least 10 pounds to get down to my lowest goal weight (make sense?) I've just set myself limits on meals, snacks, and choices of foods. Motivation is a lot harder to have after being out almost 6 years, but I will never allow myself to gain back more than a few pounds; that's just too scary to me. We can do it ladies, we did it before and we're too wonderful to let "life" get in the way of our successes.

    I like Quest protein bars, particularly the mint chocolate chip, or chocolate chip. I also have cut out crackers, peanut butter at night and just "mindless eating" in general. I "HALT" = I ask myself the following questions and take a pause from the mindless grazing:
    H= Hungry?
    A= Angry?
    L= Lonely?
    T=Tired

    By the time I figure out why I was choosing to eat that cracker; I'm over the urge. It helps me and I thought I'd share this tidbit. I actually did a support group topic on this technique and lots of people are trying it now!

    B: 1 whole hard boiled egg, 1 hard boiled egg white on 1 slice bread. Ate in the car on the way to work
    1 coffee
    43 ounces of water
    L: 3 ounces of turkey meatloaf, broccoli
    D: curry chicken thighs, ranch cauliflower and a small piece of Naan bread
    S: 1 Yasso Chocolate Fudge yogurt bar

    Will drink the other 30 ounces of water throughout the day! Let's all pull together and make it our mission to "get back on track."

    Go for it! Y'all can do this!

    Jerzey, when people who are 6 years out say what you said, I believe them! I appreciate every single thing I hear from people who are farther out than I am (I'll be 3 years post-op in August). It doesn't matter to me if they're losing or gaining or struggling or not -- I just want to know what it's like out there.

    Thank you all very much.

    P.S. And yes, grazing and drinking calories aren't compatible with our goals.

    HALT, I like that Jerzey! Writing that down and keeping as a reminder. Jerzey, like you, I am at the higher end of my goal weight and I don't want to be there. I want to lose 10 pounds as well.

    I've read two threads of people who have gained 35 pounds. I see people at my job who've had the sleeved and have REgained the weight. Life happens, I just don't want to be the person that I was pre-sleeve. I have to keep reminding myself that I did not like being in that place.
    Belle and Jerzey, WE GOT THIS!

    kenson, we can do this and then we'll let each other know when it happens (handshake deal)

    At least it's sunny in NJ today and that always feels better. Tired today as I had a 7 AM meeting and got up at 5:00 AM That's way too early, but I love my job so I do it...

    B: Greek nonfat plain yogurt w/berries, granola, chopped walnuts
    coffee
    L: not sure as I'm leaving 3:00 and might go out for a bite with my husband after a little shopping I will probably have a small piece of Quest mint chocolate chip protein bar for lunch on the run today
    D: not sure depends on where we go, but I'm craving seafood so it will be on the menu plan
    S: Yasso chocolate fudge yogurt bar

    Hope everyone has a great day and I know I'm looking forward to the weekend!

    TGIF!!!

    Hoping for a long relaxing fun weekend! It's been a long week and I need to sleep in without the alarm going off at 5:30 AM. Hoping everyone else has a great one too!

    B: not quite sure, checked the cafeteria at work and they have scrambled eggs w/peppers & spinach, turkey bacon. I brought my yogurt but might have that instead since I'm leaving early for a doctor appointment and won't have lunch, but either or will be breakfast
    L: couple bites of protein bar on way to doctors appointment
    D: probably going to a local pub after the appointment. 1 glass of wine, sharing corned beef & cabbage with hubby, but might get a little something else like a wedge salad
    S: coffee, chocolate almond biscotti (110 calories of yummy) I only let myself have this treat once in a while and still feel "guilty" afterwards. I'm thinking the guilt thing is a problem and am working on that aspect of my behavior along with lots of other things

    Have a great weekend, friends!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

    Hope everyone's having a good weekend and making progress toward your weight loss or maintenance goals. I'm doing good.

    I want to throw in a good word for the new "Smart Made" box meals. We've tried a few of them and plan to try more. They are more subtly flavored than some of the other box meals we've tried, and the macros are very nice. For folks who want to throw something in the lunch bag or in the microwave after a busy day, these boxed meals are among the best I've seen.

    Here's a link to learn more about their offerings (so far our local WalMart has offered only 3; I hope they provide a greater array soon).

    Happy Monday all! Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for the Spring Weekends just fly by and then you wake up, it's Monday!! I have to learn to make the clock go slower during the weekend. Not a very exciting Monday except that I'm going to see the "taxman" which is always a joy...not...

    B: Greek nonfat plain yogurt w/berries, little granola, flax seeds
    L: Have a webinar at noon and pre admission testing for myself (cataract surgery in April) at 1:00 - probably a little cantaloupe, cheese stick on the run
    D: not sure as tax appt. is at 6:00 PM and about 45 minutes from my home. Probably going home and eating turkey on toasted 40 calorie bread, salad
    S: Yasso chocolate fudge bar

    Got up earlier to exercise 45 minutes this morning , going to do the same tomorrow and bariatric fitness on Wednesday. Not sure about Thursday and Friday, but planning some type of exercise 5 days this week...
