I was warned about that at pre op Gina but it looks like 6AM for me.
Hi I'm Mike. I'm getting sleeved on April 18 by Dr. Simper in Salt Lake City, UT. At my heaviest, I weighed 440 pounds. About a year ago, I decided to try and take control of my life and eat better and exercise. Within a couple of months I lost like 30 pounds. I was feeling good, but was also starting to slip back into old habits. My dad died in July due to obseity related causes at 63 years old. I decided it was time to have surgery. My weight now is 370 and I'm nervous and excited at the same time. My biggest problem right now is that "last supper" mentality. Wish me luck.
I'm set for early on the 18th. Scared, happy, anxious, etc. I think being nauseated after is one of my fears. Just hate that feeling. I am looking forward to feeling better after losing weight though. Hopefully get off diabeties meds and blood pressure meds. Not to mention sleep apnea and high colesterol. Geez...
Good luck sleevers! This is a great forum.
Good luck to you, Rosco!
I've just gotten up, 5AM, make the drive, and surgery is at 10AM! We will all be FINE!!! Praying for God to guide all of our surgeon's hands this week!!
I have just turned on the computer after getting home late this afternoon. I had to stay TWO nights, instead of one because I had major nausea and throwing up with everything cold that I drank! I finally figured out that I did better with hot cocoa, and room-temp water.. Not icechips.. I hated all the food they brought to me on my meal trays - always chicken or beef broth, hot tea, and cold iced tea, along with a blue or purple popcycle, so they could check for leaks! I choked down almost all of the STRONG popcicle on the first day before throwing up.. finally just didn't even try to eat anything, but the hot cocoa!
It's been bad. I threw up this morning, and then threw up again just awhile ago after trying to take my liquid Loratab. I had an upper GI and had to drink the contrast stuff so they could check if everything looked okay, and it did, soooo, I'd say it's just a matter of the swelling going down.. As soon as they had their pictures, I stood there at that machine puking my guts out, and the nasty contrast!
Surgeon said this was the prettiest sleeve he thinks he's ever done! lol He took a picture for me.. I don't think it looks all that pretty~! Good thing is - I am able to move and get around great. Have waves of gas pains in my chest below my boobs. I guess it's gas.. I will feel really good, and then crash. I'm on my way to bed now - in the hospital lying flat made me nauseous, so hopefully, i can get a good nights sleep..? May have to sleep sitting up in the living room chair -we'll see..
