Two things that stand out with this article is that

    1) Dr. Marley's clarification that these procedures are just a tool. You need to work on your weight loss, and maintaining it. Most people think that losing the weight and keeping it off would come naturally after the surgery, but it doesn't. You have to discipline yourself and work at it. Gastric sleeve surgery just makes the work easier for you!

    2) I feel like the anonymous woman who is so happy with the results. I can't wait to also feel the same way she does! In the past, I've yo-yoed from being 100 pounds overweight to normal weight, then back up. I've tried all the diets that came out and then I still regained the weight. I think that gastric sleeve surgery would do it for me.

    Hi Tammy:

You are so right with your observations. Let's junk the idea that gastric sleeve surgery is the magic wand for losing and keeping off the weight. When I had my own operation, I always have this conscious thought that I would never waste my money by being stupid and being undisciplined again. So when I was able to, I started eating right and exercising. I've lost 60 lbs. so far!
