My sleeve doctor also sells protein shakes and bariatric vitamins under the name bariatric Fusion...it was made and formulated by the doctor and associates....
I take B12 every day, have done for about a year. It makes a huge difference to me, and I haven't got sleeved yet! Apparently it is one of the most vital of the vitamins that the general population is usually missing. Especially with our stressful modern life, it makes dealing with stress much easier and yes, I do think it gives you a pep up.
Kristen,
GNC is great. If you like the isopure, amazon has some mildly cheaper options. Also for the protein try Unjury.com. It tastes better than anything available at GNC. . Good Luck!

I have had several kidney stones that were 8mm and up. There is no way that ibuprofen and a heating pad would have helped them pass. They had to be retrieved and a stint put in. Even Demerol wouldn't touch that pain. What type of stones do you have that you have had 100's? I too have issues with calcium. I am working with a nephrologist and I have more than 10 in each kidney right now. Most 5mm and up. Calcium is not something that I need too much of at all. I am having him watch my levels at this point. If he feels I need calcium, I will take it. Right now, potassium is the problem.
I am always nervous about getting stones. Sorry to hear about that pain.
I've not had my sleeve yet but had some blood tests recently and all my vitamins where perfect, including the B12.
I asked my surgeon in the UK about after the surgery and vitamins and he said there should be no difference.
My surgery will be the Gastric Sleeve.
Dear Aileen,
I swallow my vitamins whole now, have been since I was about 6 months out from surgery.
You will get back to a new 'normal' before too long. Only tablets I avoid now would be very large ones which might be uncomfortable. The caps I take for multivitamins each morning are quite big and I have no trouble with them.
Still have chewables sometimes because I like them.
Warm wishes
Nel
my last kidney stone was a 9 mm. Like yourself I had to have it surgically taken out and the pain was over the top. Calcium citrate is what I was told to use to avoid the build up among a special diet of do' sand dont's. You might think you don't need calcium right now but your bones are gonna tell ya a different story when you're pushing 60. Much lick to you.
