I've heard of it but it's not done anywhere near me, Boston was my doc's best guess where to try if I wanted it... and my insurance doesn't cover it.... so it's probably not going to happen.
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!

I wonder how much it costs out of pocket. I'm pretty sure my insurance doesn't cover it, either, cuz they tend to be conservative. They have research bodies that study and study and study (Henry J. Kaiser, Kaiser Family Foundation, anyone?) things forever and THEN they make decisions. Which is not a bad way to be, but bad in that after the hormone scare a few years ago due to the totally flawed data of ONE study (Not Kaiser's) they are pretty much hands off about different forms of HRT. Which sucks for a lot of women.

I have never heard of such a thing. I have read multiple articles and was told by my own doctor that it's pretty much impossible to stretch the sleeve because the stretchy part of the stomach is removed during surgery. If you overeat or eat and drink, you will just feel like food is coming out your throat - how can you stretch nonstrechable tissue?

It's probably hard to stretch it but I do agree that it relaxes somewhat. We all know that most sleevers can eat more food the farther out they are from surgery. I have heard of some people who can eat the very same amount at 2-3 years down the road but not sure how unusual that is. I think that following the rules is probably a big indicator on this. If someone starts drinking while eating again or eating to excess often than it might really stretch it some. If the surgeon performing the sleeve properly dissected the fundus (the stretchy part) then it would have very little give. If the surgeon left some fundus, then stretching is even more possible. Notice how the gastric bypass pouch can expand a lot more than what it was initially. I've even heard of a surgeon who said he had a patient come in years after GB and had a 20 ounce stomach! The patient in question had been consuming large amounts of carbonated soda and the carbonation is said to expand the stomach. Remember though that gastric bypass patients still have the fundus tissue. So their stomach pouches are far stretchier than ours. It's a combination of so many things, in my opinion.
