Welcome Ros,
Time will go so quick and you won't know yourself. I am just under six months since surgery and feel fantastic.
Goodluck with your journey. Take care.

(Was on the Public list, got sick of waiting went to pay my own way was to be sleeved in Feb, only to be told by my surgeon that my name had popped up on his public list for April and would I like to save all my money and go public)
How did you go Jo? Did you get in?

Hello fellow Australian Sleevers
well I had my Sleeve done on Monday afternoon and was home from hospital on thursday pm. well it took the wind out of my sail I can tell you. I relate this surgery as having a new baby, like when to feed it,how much to feed it, when to stop feeding it. The noises your stomach makes sound like the BIG BAND IS IN TOWN. Not suffering any pain which is good. well the journey will hopefully get better with each day of healing
Hi there - I am in Canberra. Had an earlier chance to fly to Mexico.. yip, from Canberra (via Melb) to Tijuana and had the band to sleeve revision done there. 45 mins operation and 2 days in a clinic, 3rd day back to San Diego, 2 days touring LA and then a 16 hr flight back home... It was a huge roller coaster ride... no time to think about feeling weak or cutting yourself any slack... survival.
Back in Canberra on day 7 or 8 after the op. It hits home at some stage... but it gets better after week 4. Then you get to know the sleeve a little better.. know not to feed it too much.
8 Weeks out now. A coffee with whitener and 2 splenda and then I have an Optifast protein shake (coffee) with one 32g of the Mayo plain protein for brekkie. Snack at 11, a baby Heinz apple, pear & Cinnamon. Lunch - a babybell cheese (small), a not sweetened apple from Aldi and a full cream small tub of yogurt (I hate the diet stuff)...
Snack in the arvo... another baby Heinz Apple or Sultana & cinnamon (or the likes)
At night I bake myself 4 or 5 shrimps and have it with 1 teaspoon of good mayonaise... that all is just over 1000 calories... and then I am stuffed.
When I have the absoluut munchies late night... I have a glass of water or eat a piece of cheese..
Yes, the absoluut obsession with food goes away (some days) on other days all I think about is food food food...
Being in Canberra and the icy weather I have not had lots of walks but started with light weights (2kg only) to tone the arms... (probably not doing much but it keeps the mind from wanting food)
I have lost 13kg's in 7/8 weeks and really can see and feel the difference.
Hang in there mate.. it really gets better.
hi Im new too fron Canberra and in the process of considering a sleeve ,
