Hi Cindy~ So sorry your experience was not the same as mine. The fibromyalgia had to have been a huge factor, in your case. Just the stress associated with surgery might have been enough to make you sick and upset your entire system. Did you make the clinic aware of your condition? Surely, they could have moved a healthier person to the hotel! You really should have made it clear that you needed to be in the recovery house and receive extra attention, BEFORE you made the trip. I'm glad that you are seeing improvemnt & weight loss and hope that you will continue to heal and suffer no further complications...As if fibromyalgia were not enough! Best wishes, Terry
Thank you Terry, and YES everyone knew of my condition. The recovery house was full with plastic surgery patients that needed more care from earlier that day. It was very full. Honestly the recovery house wouldnt be my choice after being there to get my drain tube taken out, with the exception of the nurse who was wonderful. I do hear that they are going to add another recovery house up the hill by next year, which sounds like a great, well needed addition. I did everything I should have, research, spoke to many people before my trip... there was no way of knowing how I was going to react to surgery. Thank you for the good wishes.
You are so right about the warm beverages; they do go down easier. Fluid is fluid, no matter what the temperature, it will keep you hydrated. To this day, I have difficulty with plain water... For me, it is much more difficult to swallow than crystal light or other flavored waters. Stay away from caffeine, it is dehydrating and anything bubbly and you will be fine...Sip, sip, sip!
I am scheduled for a revision from lapBand to VSG with Dr. Almanza in early June...I am glad to see so many people have positive things to say about him. I had my band done in Mexico and have been back n forth across the border many times over the years. I have always had excellent care and no trouble in Mexico. I will keep ya'all posted on how it goes.
