    Default Finally a date!

    Hi everyone

After a 2 year journey and 15 months on the waiting list, I have just had a call to say they can do my op next Tuesday (20th March)!! I'm in shock!! Now i'm panicking that they won't do it because my blood pressure has crept up, but I guess all of us large people have some sort of high blood pressure - am I right? I'm really worrying about that more than the op! But other than that I am so excited!!! Does anyone know how long I will be off work as I start a new job in 4 weeks time!

Sorry if this is a bit garbled but I am still in shock!!

    x

First off Congratulations! That is awesome, 2nd wow 15 months on a waiting list, that is unreal. I would have given up hope if I had to wait that long, my hat is off to you. I have high bp that is one of the reasons for the surgery and losing weight so I think you will be ok. My surgery was last Tuesday and I have felt pretty good since I had it. I work out of my home so I really didn't take any time off except for the few days in hospital. Some go back within the next week. I would say a couple weeks at the most. Again, congratulations. Susan

Great news. I had my opperation about 5 weeks ago and its made such a difference to my life already. I booked two weeks leave after my opp but to be honest I could have gone back to week after a week. I often feel a little sick if I eat to much or eat it to fast, but im still learning so i am hoping that will get better over time. This is a price worth paying to see the weight fall off and feeling of wellbeing that I now feel. Trying to plan what you are going to eat in advance when you are back in work worked best for me.
    best of luck

After such a long wait! It is normal to be a little panicky just before surgery, I think everyone is. I haven't had surgery yet but I will get there too.
HBP is part of why you need the surgery, so relax and just leave space to the excitement, no stress
