Having surgery in a couple weeks does everyone come home with pain meds? I know my doc hasn't said anything about any medicine to come home? I was just wondering what most of y'all had? Thanks in advance!!
I know every doc is different. I was sent home with only naproxen for pain, but I never needed to use it. I had my last dose of pain meds on day 3 right before they took out my iv and I really didn't need it then just took it because I knew if I needed anything once the iv was gone it would have to be by mouth. Good luck on your journey!
I came home with liquid pain meds but only used them twice and that was for an ear infection that I developed. The darn things were nasty to try to swallow so I'm glad I really didn't need them.
I got morphine in the hospital and came home with a huge bottle of liquid pain medication and it has a refill. I also had a pain pump that has two lines that fed right into my body near my stomach, it lasted until day 4 then had to slowly pull the 12 inch lines out. I have a pic of it if anyone is interested.
Note: I had no gas pain at all, I consider myself very lucky.

thanks for the input. I'm not big on pain meds other than tylenol... i have migraines and have to take meds sometimes for that and they rib my stomach to shreds soooo I was just wondering. A large part of our body comes out sounds painful, but I really hope I don't need to many pain meds either. I have a good tolerance for pain. I was justg wondering I had seen so many of you post on here about them. Thanks again.
