JOURNEY to my new life, to the new ME..faby

To start out I am a happily married mother of 4. I have had my ups and downs but God has been good and i am thankful for all the blessings i have received throughout my life. My weight has always been a torment for me, its been a rollercoaster..lose ten gain twelve. Inside of this full figured body lived a woman in denial of her weight, i felt good, no health issues and moved around pretty fast. I figured out how to take pictures to clamaflouge my weight, taking photos only of my face or portrait style never my body, i loved taking pictures of everyone but me .i always thought in the back of my mind that someday my kids would want to remember me, but no photos would exist and that sadden me.

Well to move forward i have always contemplated the bariatric surgery idea, but insurance doesnt cover ( atleast mine doesnt). Then one wonderful day a few weeks ago my co-worker and friend came to me and told me about two of her friends having surgery in Tijuana something called GASTRIC SLEEVE, immediately we both researched and read like crazy on the subject. I was excited with the idea and it was so affordable. I quickly got intouch with Louise Johnson with Dr.Almanza she exained in detail and answered all my questions, so here i am surgery is scheduled for MARCH 29, 2012. I have read many,many stories here on the forum, and watched hundreds of you tube videos as to what to expect before and after.

Today is the first day of my pre-op, i am doing the high protein low carb. I would really appreciate
any suggestions, comments or ideas on how to take in more protein.

So happy for you that you're getting the surgery. Mine has been an over 30 year battle quite the same as yours. We have a bright future to look forward to, one that will see us healthy, moving freely and going into our older age mobile, happy and active. Have a terrific week and good luck with your preparations and surgery itself. See you on the downside...post some pictures along the way for us to see as well. We can celebrate together, all of us here!
