My bariatric clinic recommends it in the beginning. My surgery is tomorrow. I have already stocked on baby food meats and fruits. They said to mix the meat with light mayo, so it will be easier to get down.

Baby food is high in sugar and carbs. My dietician told me not to eat baby food.

Plus, most baby food tastes disgusting!! My kids never ate it. My grandbabies wouldn't eat it when they WERE/are babies, so it hasn't improved much!!

My dietitian recommended baby food for the pureed foods stage. I added seasoning salt and about 1/2 teaspoon (really, very little) butter when I heated it up. It wasn't horrible with the extra seasoning I added. But it's just as easy to use a small food processor and blend up whatever your family is eating. I also stocked up, and I still have baby food in my pantry...what will I do what that? Guess I'll make vegetable stew one day and dump it all in to thicken it up! Oh yeah, and the baby food oatmeal was delicious. I added 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder to it and enjoyed that box of oatmeal even beyond the pureed and soft foods stage, until the entire box was gone and I "graduated" to regular oatmeal (to which I still add the protein powder).
