I am on my 7th week and doing well but I am wondering what I can eat. I am really confused on what I can eat. Any ideas would be so appreciated.
You should be able to eat just about anything as long as you take little bitty bites and then chew, chew, chew. Oh, and measure your portion before you start.... its easier than trying to stop while you're enjoying yourself.
Here is what is on the list of things "to avoid for the first six months":
Fried Foods
Seeds/skins of fruits and veggies
Orange and grapefruit membranes
Apples (unless cooked)
Coconut
Nuts
Granola
Pickles
Whole grain bran or bread
Whoel grain cereals
Popcorn (Oh me!! No going to the movies then! :-(
Dried fruit
Mushrooms
Fibrous vegetables (dried beans, peas, orn)
Tough meats
Broccoli
Greens
Highly seasoned/spicy foods
String beans
Foods in casings: hot dogs, sausage, etc.
Shell fish, shrimp (these are hard to digest)
With the fried food I know its because your stomach has to produce extra acid to process the oil/fat.
As to the rest of it, its my understanding that your stomach doesn't just digest chemically, but also churns and tumbles the food -- like a little internal washing machine! -- and you want it to work as little as possible while its healing.
