Question Thinking of getting a Revision from slipped band to sleeve

I am new to this blog so hello all! I have had a band for 6 years but it had slipped and all fluids taken out. Gaining weight! I have an appt for the 24th for testing for a revision to the sleeve. Has anyone gone this route and can share with me how the band vs sleeve is? I know the sleeve is more restrictive right? When my sleeve was tight i could barely drink or eat without vomiting. Is it the same? Thanks for any input!

Hi JakesMom, I have just recently received my Sleeve, and I can tell you I have not had any problem with keeping food down. No vomiting. No hunger either :-) I am currently able to eat 2-3 ounces. I know this will increase over time. I do know that a lot of banders convert to sleeves, and resolve a lot of the issues they encountered with their bands. So good luck! Keep us posted.

i had the band for 4 years. hated it. vomiting, pain, acid, wt gain cuz i couldn't keep fluid in it cuz of the side effects. i was sleeved on march 12. lost 10 pounds. no vomiting, pain or acid but you have to watch what you eat or you will gain. follow the rules.

Definitely do it. I had my band removed and a year later had the sleeve-bad idea. I stacked on so much weight in between but my husband was being very assertive and wouldn't let me have the surgery. However, now I am now back to where I was with the band in terms of weight but I still have a long way to go.
Realize that the sleeve could be harder then the band.I know we are all different but people who have had bands can find it harder. At 7 weeks I am still not eating more than soups with a a lot of chicken blended into it.I usually don't eat more than1/2 cup at on time otherwise I lose it. One of the best things is that I don't have an appetite. Occasionally I want to try what my husband is eating and will take a bite and chew it, but I spit out the food rather than swallow.
    All the best
    B
