Well I did have my pancake saturday morning, I added milk instead of water to the instant mix. I made a tiny pancake maybe 2 inch in diameter and very thin and almost crispy. It was good and I didn't have any problems with it. Of course I had my protein too that morning. Thank you all for your help and support! Sometimes we just need to "read" some encouraging words and don't beat ourselves up and get so caught up with what to eat! One day at a time and definitely portion control is the main key!

Look up eggface's recipes - she makes pancakes from ricotta cheese or cottage cheese instead of flour, so they are very low carb and higher protein. You can make all kinds of flavors, and with SF syrup, you can have them whenever you want! Its that white flour and sugar you want to avoid, so if you try this kind and like it, no need to hold back if you want it daily! I have made a stack on the weekend and eaten one every day for bfast... perfect protein start.

I have a trainer friend on facebook who makes pancakes from cinnamon protein powder and egg whites. I've never tried it but it sounds like an option to the morning protein shakes.

I decided with this surgery that dieting out of my vocab. But that doesn't give me free reign to eat things I shouldn't - its still up to me to make good choices. Rather than ignore a craving or desire for something that is not the best choice I try hard to find a reasonable substitute that will satisfy whatever I am wanting (sometimes the actual taste. Sometimes the salt. Sometimes the crunch. Etc) .. as for flavor, I have licked Doritos (I want the flavor not the crunch and this way I don't get all the carbs!) And I have spent a lot of time on Foodie sites that specialize in making regular food options healthier by subbing applesauce for oil etc or vegan sites or bariatric specific sites. Eggface is really good at replicating flavors from old favorites (smores, mint girls out cookies etc). Chocolatecoveredkaite is good at lowering calories and fat in desserts, etc. Instead of ignoring a craving see if there is some other way to have it! It won't be exactly the same but you may end up liking it more! And if you just can't find anything, try yourself to make whatever it is better (use carbquick for flour, etc) and play! Worst case, you end up letting yourself have the real thing occasionally - as long as you do so in moderation and IN CONTROL it will be fine. Do avoid "trigger" foods though... if you know that you can't just eat one bite or even a taste will send you back to old habits... its just not worth the risk. Hold a funeral for it, cry, then move on!

I am glad it went well . The key here is the portion size , I felt so awful when I tried a pancake for the first time after surgery that I am scared to try it again LOL Geez this surgery is GREAT!!!! lol
