I've heard and seen on you tube, where some people talk that there are some instances where insurance covers plastic surgery (body lifts) for patients after weight loss surgery? Anyone else heard of this or have any information?
thank you!

I have heard that they do because of skin infections from the hanging skin.

Hi guys. Insurance will cover excess skin if its causing skin irritations, infections, and if you have excess skin around ur abdomen causing back pain. If you have any othese issues make sure you work with your PCP so there is proof of treatment and issues to be provided to insurance. Also, if you're lucky enough to have disability coverage, you likely will be covered since your surgery would be done to correct and illness. The latter I know from working for disability companies and the first I know from working with my PCP while losing a little weight a few years ago. Hope that helps. :-)
