10 months post surgery....BEST thing I ever did for myself!!!!!!

10 months ago on April 11, I had VSG. I have not regretted a day since!!

Things I love about VSG....
1. When I wake up in the morning....all my clothes still fit.
2. The scale is no longer my enemy.
3. My husband calls me his "little wife" again.
4. I can tie my shoes without losing all my oxygen.
5. I can keep up with our 2 Toy Schnauzers,,,,and that includes jogging!!

I know it's been forever since I've posted. I will make an honest effort to stay connected.
One thing I wished was different about this forum is the lack of "veterans". I will try not to fall through the cracks, because everyone needs to know how the journey progresses and be able to ask questions of us old farts! hehe!

Nice to hear from you veteran I think it's pretty cool to have something that is going to work for the long term. I know if I were still yo-yo dieting, I would have already gained back the 30 pounds I've lost. This is the first time in years (feels like 100 years!) that I've kept my weight off. I love this tool. Glad to hear you have been so successful and are staying that way! Thanks for your post.

I am 11 months out from my surgery, it has been Avery long journey. It is the best thing I've ever done for myself , But I have had several issues with not being able to eat without pain .i have been stuck at 180 for 4 months so I have not met my goal yet and don't know what to do to jump start my weight loss again, any ideas? Have you gone back to your surgeon and requested to be checked for stricture? If you have pain when eating, you could have scar tissue or a twist or a stricture that isn't allowing your food to pass normally. Definitely get it checked out! As for the 4 month stall.... increase your protein intake, definitely increase your water/fluid consumption, and add some multi vitamins to your diet...I use prenatal pills. Start an excercise program, and eat at lease 4 times a day. I think maybe if you're having pain eating that you probably aren't eating enough and your body will go into starvation mode. So feed it a little bit several times a day, even if it's just a handful of almonds, and I bet you will break the plateau!! Best of luck and Thank you so much for responding!!

I concur! Thanks for posting. It is really great to hear how one is doing a few months down the road. You have done an incredible job! My husband has started calling me his little "Waif" instead of wife! LOL!!! I'm hardly a waif, but he says I feel so much smaller when he hugs me it is amazing.
