I was on clear liquids only for three days post op. Then just the protein shakes and full liquids. Maybe he is progressing his diet too quickly. I know every MD has a differnet post op diet, so I can't speak to that, but this is just my opinion.

I agree... may be too early for yogurt.. I think I would stick to clear liguids today... and maybe try a protein shake tomorrow...

I was on clear liquids as well. Maybe some clear broth or sugar free jello,or popsicle would be good for him now

I am being sleeved Wednesday, and 3 of my friends have already had the surgery. We were ALL told JUST clear liquids for the first 5 or so days. Then just liquids and protein drinks for the next 2 weeks. NOTHING like yogurt or anything till about the 3-4th week.

I think your husband needs to speak with the surgeons office about the post op instructions and what he should be doing.

I agree with all the others. My instructions from my surgeon were nothing but clear liquids for one week post surgery, then a week on "Full" liquids (the protein shakes, plain yogurt, creamed soups, sugar-free pudding, etc.). The third week could be pureed food or baby food, and the fourth week was soft foods such as tuna salad, baked flaky fish, deli-thin luncheon meats, mushy broccoli, etc. And yes, there is pain around the surgical sites, but it will improve day by day. He'll get better, you'll see.

No food, only liquids for the first 7 days as everyone said. His stomach is very tender right now and can't handle anything thicker than a liquid until the swelling goes down a little. Day 8 he can have yogurt and soft creamy soups but he should only eat about an oz at a time with a baby spoon to ensure he is not eating to much at one. Ice chips hurt as did water the first day or two and once I began the soft foods it took a few days to adjust and I was lucky if I could eat 3 baby spoon full's without the gurgling noise or my stomach cramping. He has to relearn and his stomach needs a good rest so no more food only clear liquids.

The day after I didn't drink any water or anything... just had an IV keeping my hydrated. On day 2, we were allowed to suck on ice. Its been two weeks post op for me and I'm just now allowed to have yogurt. So he might want to stick to ice pops n water. Hope he feels better!!

hello there , I was sleeved by Mr Ammori on the 23rd . I was told by the nurses I could have yogurt to. I didnt have any side effects just a little burping. Try sugar free jelly and ice pops. Everyone seems to react differently. Hope this helps.x

It's perfectly normal. I was sleeved by Mr Ammori on the 13th of jan. I had the yogurt as well. It's normal to feel uncomfortable. I had a rough first week, but there is light at the end of the tunnel xx
