Default 9 and a half weeks post op

Today I got on the scale and it hit 212!!!! That is 52 pounds gone. This is the lightest I have been in years. In three weeks I will turn 45 years old. I am in better shape mentally and physically than I was at 30 and at 40. I have my hubby to thank and my surgeon for both. A friend told me yesterday that I look better, healthier than she has ever seen me look.

If you are just a few days post op and wondering what you have done to yourself, please know that it gets better. If you are pre op and having doubts know that this will work. I do not miss food. I feel great and I know that I still have a long way to go with the weight loss, but for the first time in my adult life I can see that there WILL be a lasting change in my weight.

Thanks to all who have gone before me and posted their encouraging results. I read the forums for almost a year trying to learn what to expect, I credit the posts that others made in preparing me to know what to expect post surgery. It was extremely helpful in the first few days.

Looking forward to being 45 soon and getting better and better. Have a great day today!

Way to go busybee! I'm so encouraged by your story. I, indeed, was thinking just the other day, "why did I do this to myself?". But then yesterday I felt better and am down a little more. So yea, it's all worth it! And I'm only 3 1/2 weeks out. I can't wait to be down as much as you are. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Good for you! I agree: I was pretty miserable for about seven weeks, with weeks five and six being the worst. At that point, the results just aren't there yet, and you're eating the same liquid/mushy food, but it's so worth it; like most good things, it takes patience and effort and TIME.

Congratulations on your success. I am going back & forth on the surgery but the positive and not so positive comments from folks are a real eye opener. I had an epiphany today that I had eaten what I wanted for the last 53 years and this is where it has gotten me. If I don't get to eat my favorite foods anymore then I will have had them for 50 some odd years and time to move on to something better! Your post is very inspiring! Thank you!
