what foods were you able to eat before your surgery that you can't
eat today?

Nothing. Carbonation is a little troublesome but that's it.

I tried raw carrots several weeks ago, and will never eat them again. Seems like they just sat there. It was very uncomfortable for several hours. I have been told to stay away from white bread, rice, potatoes, starches in general. All sugar, but I think these are more or less because of the calories. I was also told no carbonation at all.

yep, fizzy pop is a definate no for me, I also find pasta and rice a little difficult xx

Everything i have read says stay absolutely away from carbonated drinks, that it could cause problems with the sleeve, so i am not sure why anyone would risk that. Same goes with food that expands in your stomach i.e. rice,pasta, and untoasted bread.

Steak for me is a little hard to digest even cut up small, it feels really heavy and i have not been able to keep it down yet and i was sleeved in july 2010, carbonated drinks are ok for me tho, as long as i dont try to fit anymore than 50 mls or so in at a time..
