My doctor says if my reflux doesn't get better in the next two weeks on puree he wants to do a egd and stretch my sleeve. Has this happened to canyon and wlhow will this affect my weight loss.

I had very bad reflux after the sleeve. My Doc said do Nexuim and suffer through it. After about 90 days it got better. But I am still on Nexium 1 -2 times a day. I have never heard of streching the sleeve.

I would get a second opinion. Go to a gastro doctor and see what s/he says.

Is the nexium stronger than the protonix? What does the GI know about Bariatric Surg tho? I'm so nervous and he thinks my belly might be too tight.

I have my surgery on1/20 and I met with my dr and his staff today. They did mention, in rare cases, that is what they would have to do also.

You would be surprised. Look at the thousands of people who have had gastric bypass. Bariatric surgery is very common place and most GI doc's have a lot of experience with them.

I'm just so nervous. I don't wanna ruin my chances of losing weight by stretching my new tummy. I hiccup alot, did you do hat as well?

Stretching the sleeve a tad isnt that rare. They talked to us about it also if tummy was to tight. Dont be worried. Nothing major. Nexium is the strongest

They only stated that it would only be done if the stomach was too narrow and it would be ever so slight. You can't over stretch something that's no longer there

I had the reflux. I take prilosec 2x a day now. I also got zofran for the neausea. I'm now 3 months out and am no longer neausous . it was HORRIBLE for a while. Give it time!
