    Question Questions for UK Sleevers

    Hi,
I have a couple of questions and wondered if you can help. I have my surgery on 22nd April '14:
    - how many nights are you expected to stay in hospital?
    - have you been given a pre-op diet? Mine has just said nothing to eat after 7am on the day but... What if there is still food in tour stomach?? I expected having to go on a liquid diet for at least a few days.

    Thanks
    Jess

Hi Jess, I have been told that I will be in for 3 nights. I have a dietician calling me on 2 April to discuss my pre op diet as this needs to be followed for about 2 weeks before surgery to shrink/soften your liver so that the surgeon has good access to your stomach. I will let you know what happens when the dietician contacts me. Take care. M x
Initial consult (6 March 2014) - 250lbs (had already lost 7lbs prior to this consultation!)
Start of official pre op diet (16 April 2014) - 245lbs
    Day of surgery (23 April 2014) - 239lbs
    1 Mth post op (23 May 2014) - 215lbs
    2 Mths post op (23 June 2014) - 199lbs
    3 Mths post op (23 July 2014) - 190lbs
    18 Mths post op (23 October 2015) - 140lbs

Yeah same as above 2 week pre op diet I've been told I'm in for 2 nights but 2 nights is the minimum you should expect 2-3 seems to be the norm.
Good luck where is your op? Surgeon etc? You excited?

    X

Hi I had my sleeve on 18th Feb. I was on a pre op diet to shrink the liver for a week pre op (basically like Atkins diet very low carb).
I was told that I could be in 2 to 3 days however I came home on day 2 as was feeling fine. Hope all goes well for you all. x
