I took off 7 days. My surgery was on Tuesday and I was coming back on the following Monday, which I could of so done!! I however waited till Wednesday just so I would have another short week!! I am not having any problems and feel great! I do work at a desk at a hospital but I get up get to walk and sip sip sip. It really depends on your job though!! Good luck!

I also have a desk job. My surgery was on a Wednesday and I returned the following Tuesday. The only thing that was hard for me was bending into low drawers. Other than that, no problems other than being very tired. Good Luck!!

My surgery is scheduled for a Monday and my surgeon assures me I will be able to return to work the following Monday, BUT...I, too, have a desk job.

Wow - my surgery group suggests 3-4 weeks off from work.

I have desk job as well, my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday the 18th and I am hoping to go in on Monday the 23rd for at least half days.....Any advice???

I am taking 2 weeks and that's pushing it. I will probably go stir crazy after the 1st week . I also have a desk job. Good luck to you

I'm going back in 12 days to work half days. I have a desk job also but Im told I cant drive for 3 weeks?????????????????????????????

I drove at 4 days. Prob shouldn't have but I dont always follow the rules. I must be honest I didnt ask how long till I could drive cause I did not want to be told any different!! LOL

Thanks everyone for your quick response! I am a special ed. teacher with 10 kids, no lifting etc. I was hoping for 5 days off but I called and talked to the center and they said 2 weeks!~ I've been waiting for approval since June and really don't want to wait any longer and can't be gone for 2 weeks! I was thinking of surgery on Thursday and going back on a Tuesday. Is this do-able?

I thought two weeks, but doc kept me off three which is fine as I'm still a little sore from hernia repair, but my sleeve is fine. I could have went back in two weeks if it wasn't for the hernia surgery.

Thanks for answering! I'm a teacher and just thought I'd take a long weekend. Do you think that is possible? like a Tues and return on Monday or a Thursday and return on a Monday? I can't miss work but don't want to wait any longer! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! What is sore after 3 days?
