Protein. They say biotin, folic acid and iron helps. Protein is what will really help. Your body has gone through a traumatic change. It is making sure that all your internal organs are being fed, hair being the last. I also used thickening shampoos such as Nioxin and John Freida products. It comes back and I don't know anyone that went bald. I lost a lot of hair starting at 4 months. You would never know it today.

It is terrible seeing all that hair in the drain. I was really worried and looking up any treatment to help it stop. I still monitor what is in the drain. That is one quick way of knowing if my protein is dropping.

Try stress management. No joke. Seriously.

Hair is NOT essential for our human survival. If you are losing hair, it means your body's metabolism has halted or slowed nutrients to feed your locks. When you enter a calories restrictive diet, you have major surgery or stress, your body gets on survival mode, and as mentioned hair is the first to go without necessary nutrients.

Continue to keep your protein and hydration high. Take all your vitamins and try to relax. It will start hair production and nutrients once it finds a balance. And you stressing about it might delay that balance.

Hair grows and sheds every four months ,when you had your surgery that first months you really didn't get in all the vitamins and nutrients that you needed that is why it is stressed to us to take our vitamins and keep our protein up . As you get more in it will stop falling out. be patient with your self .

I lost a lot of hair at three days (side effect of the blood thinning) then again at three months but this time it did last a while....about three months, but my iron was really low. I took loads of biotin and started pre-op, but for me it's really about the iron deficiency. Also I lose my hair all the time and for any reason, as soon as I'm sick or take a new medication etc.... I stopped the biotin recently because I noticed that I have unwanted facial hair and it didn't seem to do anything to my hair....My iron level is better now and my hair is growing back.
Don't freak out, it's just temporary, and it will grow back. Just take your vitamins, proteins and get a blood test regularly. If you have patches with really thin hair you can use a keratin powder to "cover up". It does work well, I use Toppik or Fusion, I also got nice large hair bands, for me thinning is mostly located on top so sometimes instead of using the powder I just wear my hair band and that's enough. My fav hair band is Lululemon, those don't move!!

I am 3 months out and my brush is full every day. I took biotin pre surgery and still take it daily post surgery. I use fancy biotin collagen shampoos, and take all my vitamins, but still see a full brush. I asked my nutritionist and she said it will stop eventually. i hope so. i get in all the protein. i have a stressful job but cant do anything about that but learn to cope better. I use to cope with food. Can't do that anymore so have to find new strategies. Any hair saving tips anyone has used would be helpful.

I dumped all my stress onto this site. I broke my knee cap January of this year and was so scared that I was going to eat myself back. I couldn't walk, couldn't work and just had to sit there. I posted a lot during those three weeks. It didn't matter if no one posted back, it was the act of putting all my feelings somewhere. Long story short, I didn't gain weight and I ended up with a better job. My knee feels fine!! Stress is terrible and we have to learn to manage it. Easier said than done.

Not sure if this will help you, my hair stylist said that I should only wash my hair every three days, use a cider vinegar cleanser every two weeks or at least once a month, deep condition twice or once a month. She also recommended I stop pulling my hair back in ponytails, she said if I can avoid brushing even better. I have wavy hair and can just scrunch it up.

I tell you one thing the NOT washing my hair everyday, and not brushing my hair is a time saver as well as I'm not stressing on what I don't see falling off.

I have a water mister for my orchids and I have been using on my hair lol!

If I workout I can get away with just rinsing with lukewarm water once in between workouts. I towel dry as gently as possible and use an infuser on low to blow dry excess water.

I use vitamins and essential oils on my scalp every day.

I love the Just Natural products a little goes a long way, and they have 20% every three months. http://m.justnaturalskincare.com

Not much you can do about hair loss, just know it's temporary. (I have never heard of a sleever going bald!)
