    Default Hello There!

Hello everyone. I am new here- I had my surgery on March 17, 2014. Today is day 14 and I was so excited to switch to soft textured foods. I think I was over zealous, as now I have been feeling full for the past 4 hours!!!! How is this even possible??? I plan to go back to liquid tomorrow as I think tilapia was too much for my new stomach. I feel very uncomfortable- like the food hasn't moved. Anyway, I am happy to be amongst you all and look forward to sharing my experiences any learning from yours. Congratulations on taking this step...now let's get healthy!!

I had talapia yesterday but I used a fork to scrape the meat from the skin and then I smashed the meat up with my fork. I was only able to eat one half of the fish but it was excellent.

Usually, talapia is on the dry side so you may try a dash of fish sauce next time.....or even tartar sauce.

Hi there! Yes I was so excited to switch too. I am 4 weeks out & I still have trouble with meats. I do better with soft cheese, yogurt, & cottage cheese. Some baby foods are good too. Be careful with the meat...it does sit very heavy. This is a great forum. Hang in there! Hope your recovery goes well & easy!

My favorite now is chicken salad and cottage cheese. 1/2 cup. (together). My dr. said to stay away from baby food because of sugar. Diva, Does it all have sugar?

My experience with food is also been not so pleasant. I made an album “What do I eat now?” I am taking this food one time a day around 12am. And chew it thoroughly. Each one is for 3 days than move to the next.

I love cottage cheese and tuna... Easy to eat and great way to get the protein in
Rolling up thin turkey or ham in low fat cheddar is great too!!

Whoa, you all are doing a lot by eating fish this early in the game. Even though I long to chew on something, I want to ensure that my stomach will heal appropriately before I indulge in solids. I have two more days on the dreadful full-liquid diet and will be free to do the pureed stage - Thank God!!! If I were you, I would go back to at least pureed for another solid week before eating the solid foods.

    Good Luck!
