Yes, post op for the forest few days you may have a hard time getting in much else anyway. Coconut water might not be a great idea since it has a laxative effect and at that point, laxative was the last thing I was looking for....
I see that today is your surgery, I wish you luck and look forward to your posts in the coming weeks!!
Straight forward. Straight facts. Whether you like the truth or not... I'm not made of sugar coating

Thanks for sharing this. I wondered why I haven't been losing anything. I haven't drunk three shakes per day as asked. I have drunk 1-2 per day along with the cups of baby spinach or lettuce they told me I could have. I still hope that my liver has shrunk just by the sheer decrease in calories taken over these past two weeks
I found the "ULTIMATE" great tasting protein drink. You can purchase it on Amazon or at Costco Wholesale - called Premier Protein Drink - chocolate is fantastic. It has 30grams of Protein in one container 11oz. Goes down smooth.. I like to freeze one so that if I leave for the afternoon I can sip for awhile. Tastes great even warm .. can't wait for winter to heat it like hot chocolate.
It also comes in vanilla.
I am presently entering my 5th week post op....I simply just really don't know what to eat. I need a web site that will just lay it out for me ...day by day. I am really burnt out on protein shakes and yogart. I need some guidance and advice please.
My best friend when I was on clears were sugar free popsicles. I kept feeling the need to chew something, so I bought the sugar free jello cups. I could chew the jello and that satisfied my urge and made me slightly less grumpy. Also, when I transitioned from clears to full liquids, my favorite thing to do was take cream of potato soup, some bacon bits and cheddar cheese and blitz it with my hand blender. I added a little lite sour cream and VOILA!! The baked potato I was craving, in drinkable form. I packaged mine in 4 oz gladware cups and sipped on it until half was gone and I would eat the rest later. I'm almost 4 weeks post-op and I've been pretty much eating whatever I want, minus the sugary and carb-y foods like candy, soda, and starches. My one-month post op appointment is Thursday 9/27/12.
My doctor and nutriionalist told me that two weeks prior all I could eat was lean protein. No Carbs because the liver is in charge of breaking down carbs and that lean protein only is what is needed to shrink it. The clear liquids is to keep your digestive track and stomach clear while you get a jump start on healing. Doesn't want me to stay on clear liquids only for more than a day or two after surgery and then I start on proten shakes after that. Then work my way to puree!
I ordered mine from Amazon. The postage was a little pricey but not losing my hair is worth it. GNC out here will order them in for you. Saves a little on the shipping cost that way. Sorry not familiar with what stores there are in Canada.
