Thank you, everyone!
1. Where did you have your surgery done?
2. Who was your doctor?
3. What was the cost?
4. Was it an actual hospital, or a surgery center?
5. On a scale of 1-10, what is your satisfaction level...
Thank you! This is very helpful, as I'm currently researching doctors.
Good to know. I'm just starting to research, and haven't even applied for a passport yet.
So glad to find this thread. I also have severe PCOS, am getting up there in years, and need to do something drastic to get my weight under control so I can have more children before it's too late....
This is too funny, because I was thinking the EXACT same thing today! I have a 160+lb mastiff, and I was thinking that it will be nice to weigh less than him!
Thank you for this post. I am SO nervous about this whole process. It's nice to hear from someone so soon after the surgery, and hear that you are doing relatively well, and are even able to travel....
I actually have wondered if this is what I have. I ONLY experience these symptoms (including heartburn) when I'm having an allergy attack. It's very strange, and can be scary.
Actually, devices similar to these have been around for many years (although this one certainly may be a hoax). I remember seeing an advertisement in the back of a magazine for a machine that sucked...
I totally understand. I'm pretty much at the same stage as you; I've done a ton of research, have read/watched people's recovery blogs, YouTube videoes, etc. I've also only been in the hospital once,...
Yup. I'm "only" 214 at 5'5", but I have PCOS that is putting me at high risk for diabetes, heart disease, and several other killers. I can't stop the weight gain no matter what I do, and I've tried...
Congratulations! Your post was so inspiring to me. My goal is to get sleeved, lose the weight and conquer my PCOS, and have several more happy, healthy pregnancies!
I feel you! I am in the exact same boat. My biggest fear is that something will go wrong during surgery, and I'l leave behind my young son and husband. I feel very selfish for wanting to have this...
Were you ever diagnosed with PCOS prior to surgery? I know that it's VERY common for PCOSers to have an unusually high number of periods after WLS, because our hormones were already totally screwed...
Thank you, and congratulations! How are you feeling?
Hello! I'm in the Gore Mountain region, and am just starting this journey. I'd love to hear about your story!
I'm in Northern NY, in the Gore Mountain area. Looking into have surgery at Ellis Hospital. I know a few people who had the RNY surgery there, but haven't met anyone who was sleeved yet. Anyone have...
This is what I was going to suggest. I am also a serious stomach-sleeper (and yes, my chiropractor yells at me, too!), but had to learn to sleep in a different position when I was pregnant. Two body...
Hi everyone! I am new to the site, but have spent a couple of days looking around. I am still very much in the beginning stages of this process, and am not sure if this is the surgery for me or not....
Glad to see this post. I also have PCOS. I have one child that took us a LONG time to conceive. Definitely want more kids, and am hoping that the sleeve will help me get the PCOS under control. I...
I also have PCOS, and have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. Nearly three years ago, I was able to lose some weight by going on a crazy (read: unsustainable) diet long enough to...
Same question here. I have a little boy who will be turning two next week, and my biggest concerns about the surgery all revolve around being able to care for him post-op.
