    Re: Getting There

I do weigh every day, but its not as disturbing as it once was -- I think if we hid it (along with the 1,000s of other things we can't find) the scale would be gone!

    Re: keeping in touch

Ellie, peri menopause was like reverse adolescents! It is a process for certain. I found eliminating caffeine ended the flushing.

My weight during "safe at home" has gone up and down a couple...

    Re: Widow to Weight Loss

Welcome! There are a number of us who were self-pay, but it was worth it! We are worth it. I am sad for your loss, but grateful you are caring for yourself.

Re: What is the best way to track calories burned?

I'm old; I don't get too much exercise, nor did I during the faster weight loss of early sleeve. But I hit my goal within 7 months, and remain their within 2-3 pounds the last almost 4 years.

    I do...

    Re: Hi I'm new

Everyone has to find their level of comfort; KiwiGal is spot on; on the other side, I have had 16 major surgeries (well I'm also old). And the VGS was so easy that my only tears afterward is that I...

    Re: Any Cauliflower Pizza Tips?

Ha ha ha....pretty much what I decided. We are that generation that doesn't throw stuff out, we eat leftovers. The great dread of cauliflower pizza again was pretty overwhelming.....:)

    Re: concerned

Nothing different to add -- I do the same things. I've been at or below goal since 7 months out from surgery.
Protein first, lots of water, then dense carbs... :)

Re: How long after surgery can I drink coffee?

I didn't have coffee for about 3 weeks -- but I stopped having it during the liquid phase pre op, and did have a headache but thought it was sugar detox. Always follow your doctor.... :)

    Any Cauliflower Pizza Tips?

    I made one today.

I found it to be a "slider" inducing toad froth. Taste wasn't bad (used Green Giant crust), but sort of soggy (I like thin crispy things).

So I could back off the sauce a...

    Re: Men!!!

Katrina, even "back in the day" at my bulimic thinnest, I would never have had a 23" waist! My ribs have about 1/2" clearance to hips, so not much waist at all.

We all carry lots of "old" messages...

Re: Pain after gastric sleeve surgery

I only needed Tylenol in hospital, and a few days after WALK WALK WALK to keep gas pain at bay. Pain meds don't work for that. Nap. Walk. Drink water. :) It's probably the easiest of any surgery...

    Re: Post Sleeve diet dilemma

    John,
First, thank you for your brutally honest sharing. It took so much courage to say all that you said.
You seem to have a good understanding about how you should be eating.

    What's helped me...

    Re: favorite meal replacement

For sure taste changes. I cannot tolerate lemon, but lime is ok. I prefer Premier Protein shake in my coffee, but can't do too many flavors. Only cokies & cream.

Water is still the best, but not...

Congratulations on the new house! Views are fabulous, as will your life be.

No, it's not fair. But then again, they live with "testorone poisoning" all their lives. Jim is 6'1" tall, 220 (and...

    Also echoing the same advice.
Not just the first 10 days, 2 weeks.
The sleeve is only a tool that works as well as you use it the correct way (sorta like you can use a lamp as a door stop or a...

Re: LIFE CHANGE - Caring for Mum

Sharon - we're just "closing" the house. We've been in this one 18 years; before that I had lived in 20 different states while kids were growing up. I am not "wedded" to where we are, but 4 of 6...

    Re: Carbonated/fizzy Drinks

I think, Sharon you may still be the life of the party!

I don't do either. I never liked sparkly stuff, and hard liquor is a real sugar reaction for me.
I can do a "polite" glass of good wine...
  21. Re: Does meal replacement count with liquid total

Thank goodness it counted or I would have never made the liquid goal. But it gets easier. And I also use the Kirkland Chewies, but I think ours come from BJs.

    SO important!

Re: liquid diet blues for 2 weeks

I didn't find it too awful -- I do have liver issues, so I was quite determined to be "perfect" on it. After the first 3 days, during which I had a headache (sugar detox?) it was great.

LIFE CHANGE - Caring for Mum

First, we are grateful for all our kids and grands, and the two of us being healthy so far. I've sewn 350 masks, given away 320. I think for older folks in dense population areas, probably be...
