    Re: Not following the "diet"

I would recommend doing what they tell you, it works! Some carbs won't hurt, but concentrate on protein and veggies. Everything in moderation.

    Re: trekking in Ethiopia

I've got you beat, no shower for 9 days on Kilimanjaro. But we had the wet wipes too. And dry shampoo. Not too bad! But it was nice to get back to running water. We hiked to 19,400 feet. Talk...

I'd be happy to have a doctor that won't just operate for the money, that wants to be sure it's right for you. I'm no expert, but some here have had to have their sleeve converted to the bypass...

    Re: ONE month “exercise” question

Don't go from nothing to 45 minutes of exercise, you have to work up your time/distance gradually or you will hurt or be in pain! Baby steps.

I was cleared for all exercise at 2 weeks. I was a...

My recent retirement (quit when school ended last spring) is what I blame for my slight weight gain. I need more structure, maybe a volunteer job. Not sure what that might be, as like I said, we...

    Re: Comfort Food!

I promise you won't be "mourning for food" Sandie. After surgery food is the last thing on your mind! In fact it's pretty gross. Total miracle.

If you want something, have it before you start...

Re: First “big trip” after VSG

OMG, your photos are gorgeous! I'm jealous! Next time I'll come too.

Great planning on your part food wise. I like how you didn't ask for special meals, it always puts stress on the people...

I'm 6 years out too. I joined Weight Watchers when I had a slight gain and it helped me get 10 pounds under my goal. (Found out I shrunk a little over the years, and wanted some wiggle room). I...

First of all, you won't be hungry after surgery. You won't be hungry for quite a while. But when the weight just starts falling off, you won't be worrying about eating "comfort food.' You will be...
