    Re: Extreme Fatigue

B12 helped me a lot with my fatigue - you can get it in pills, sublingual (liquid you drop under the tongue), or monthly B12 shots from a doctor. My doctor also said it isn't a vitamin you can...

Re: Thinking of Weight Watchers anyway

If you have never done Weight Watchers, I would suggest trying it. Yes, My Fitness Pal is free and a wonderful tool but it is harder to make better choices. WW points use a combination of calories,...

Re: 2 months out and nausea

Are you taking any sort of acid reducer like Prilosec? That seems to help - also if I eat something and it starts making a ruckus, I'll eat an antacid and that seems to help settle it down. I...

    Re: B12 Shots

I use the sublingual - Walgreens carries one that is 5,000 mcg/f (I can't remember which it is). My doc said that B12 is not a vitamin that you can overdose on so I do one dropper daily.

    Re: Unpleasant Surprise!

I was sleeved in March and had my health assessment in August - my score increased 16 points (1-100 with 100 being perfect) from last year! Next year it will be a much better number - good luck to...
  7. Re: Not getting along with my sleeve anymore

In regards to your meds, have you tried taking them with and without food or at different times? I know one of my meds is much better on the tummy with food. I'm sorry to hear you are having...

    Re: Sad NSV

I would search for formal dresses online - most online stores are getting better about free shipping and returns. I bought a dress in college for my sorority's formal online for a much better price...

Re: Help - 3 month update from someone!

I would recommend trying some of the food at home before hand if you can - don't force anything down, if it doesn't feel good stop eating it- and if you decide to partake in a drink or two be very...
  10. Re: Question to my sleeve friends w/ medical knowledge, please explain!!!

After my surgery I have been cold A LOT so maybe the shrinking, shivering you will offset the hot flashes? ;)

The patches sound interesting - Mcderma did help with my incision sites - they are a much lighter color now.

    Re: Bread

I find bread works better if it is toasted - I thought I might have better luck with a flatbread or a quesdilla but both of those sit worse than toasted bread.

Also for vitamin B, you can find a sublingual liquid (drop under the tongue) supplement in the vitamin section if you don't want to do the shots. By doctor told me you can't really overdose on...

    Re: can't eat meat???

I have found with meat that a lot has to do with how it is cooked - it has to be moist or it isn't going down good... I found eating dark meat helps (moisture) or using a marinate. My steaks are...

Re: So tired... Is this normal?

You can also take B-12 to help with your energy levels - either by doing monthly shots or buying a sublingual (drops you do under the tongue) supplement (Walgreens carries one that is 5000 mg or...

I have noticed the same thing - I primarily stick to protein shakes and Greek yogurt for breakfast - bacon is ok too.
  20. Re: One month out, trying new foods. Throwing up most of them. UGGGGGG.

I would recommend trying one new food at a time - that way you can single out which one doesn't agree with you. Lettuce and corn are both harder to digest items. Like Holly said, take a few small...

    Re: Decent Fast Food Option

I have been a big fan of the kids meals - much smaller sizes and actually most these days have healthier options (like apple slices for a side etc). I've found that eating a sandwich with only one...

Quite honestly, I think the pre-op diet was the hardest part of this whole experience. You are hungry and stressed about your surgery - just not a good combination for stable moods LOL!

  25. Re: Sensitivity to foods? Changes in taste and smell? Odd questions..
