    Re: New to the forum

You should not be making "food choices." At nine days, the practice i used you only had protein shakes, water, broths, cream soups, popsicles, etc.

Your stomach is still healing so anything solid...

    Re: Incision pains

Put pressure on your stomach by pressing a throw pillow against the area whenever you move. it will cause the muscles not ti engage so much and keep the area from moving around to much.

    Re: Hello?

Aaron, every practice handles the stages differently. Some are more aggressive than others. The practice i went through was fairly conservative post-op but liberally handled the pre-op diet. We were...

    Re: Excited but nervous!

I used against my stomach whenever i moved positions from sitting to standing, laying down to sitting, etc. It makes the incisions hurt much less.

    Re: Almost time

In the practice i was went through. Week one is only fluids. Let the swelling subside and your interior incision line heal.

    Re: Hello?

What everyone else said. the only protein you should be getting is from broth. Week one is all fluids.

The 10#s should be all IV fluids and the itching is generally signalling the wound healing.

    Re: Skim milk or water?

Nine weeks post op, you need to be getting more calories/protein. My thinking is your stall is because your body is starving now and hanging onto every little thing it can to survive.

Re: Not sure what is going on

You should spend no more than thirty minutes on food and shake intake. If you don't finish, save it for later. Start fluids back at thirty minutes from last bite. Once your swelling goes down, your...

    Re: First appointment next week

Crazy that 2 #'s make the difference between covered and not. Let the docs push from their side based on their findings.

    Re: Thoughts on protein bars?

Look at recipes for homemade protein balls. They are a much better option and you can make them to your taste. I do a batch once every two weeks or so.

    Re: The dreaded poo questions

No. You should be mostly fluids so what have you consumed that would require evacuation? If your stomach is not uncomfortable and your able to still drink then you are not having an issue.

    Re: Newly Sleeved in Southlake

As the others have said, let your body heal and get your intake ramped up. You will need a minimum amount of protein and fluids to exercise intensely so you don't lose muscle mass.

  19. Re: stalled on the side of the road (checking in)

My thinking is the week 3 stall, which is not a real stall but just your body reconfiguring. Everytime my weight loss paused it was because my body was in starvation mode. Increase your protein...

    Re: First appointment next week

It it relatively easy to see if you qualify. Most insurance plans require a BMI between 35-40 with 1/2 co-morbidities (high cholesterol, high blood pressure, CAD, Sleep Apnea, etc.) or a BMI over 40....

Welcome Roger. I enjoyed the hoops. I learned so much in the program I was in getting to my surgery date. If you use the time, you learn the tools to make this a success.
