    Re: Anyone been resleeved?

Honestly, I feel like the one thing nobody tells us going in, that they should have, is that there is a rebound gain. I was down to 165 and was thrilled. I'm a 5'11" male, that's pretty skinny. ...

    Re: Stress eating...

Oh yeah, stress eating is a challenge. The worst for me is when they added credit card acceptance to the vending machines at work. Before I would just not bring cash. Now, a bag of licorice is at...

    Re: Feeling helpless

I feel your pain! It's really tough. Losing comes a lot easier early on. I hit goal and that was so much easier than it has been to maintain.

My advice is that the battle is won and lost at...

Re: Holy smokes! I have energy!!

How heavily is it carbonated? Bubbles can give me a bit acid. But this sounds amazing and like a good mid-day pick me up for me. I love the taste of sour things. I'm going to give it a try.
  5. Re: I see a lot of pre op diet people who can no handle it.

My original goal was 195 -- I'm 175 now. I'd like to be 165 just for the fun of it but doubt I'll ever get there. Again, I'm an almost 6' tall male so 175 is perfectly normal. I wear a 30-32"...
  6. Re: I see a lot of pre op diet people who can no handle it.

I have not really regained. I am very active which is why I can maintain.
  7. Re: I see a lot of pre op diet people who can no handle it.

    I feel quite good now. I'm 3 1/4 years post-op and have lost 125# and weigh 175# (I'm a 5'11" male, so this is a normal BMI).
  8. Re: I'm doing the Pouch Reset after a hefty regain...

Did your surgeon recommend the pouch reset or test? I've never tried it. My understanding of it is that it was created by a faux journalist trying to be an expert on bariatric matters and WLS. I...

Re: New Guy on the Block

I just turned 44, so 45 better not be old!

Welcome to the forum. I'm a male as well. It's a slightly different journey for us. Enjoy the ride!

Re: Gastric sleeve or gastric placation???

Sleeve, sleeve, sleeve. Lower rate of complications and higher rate of weight loss. Indisputably.

    Re: Newbie here!!

You will have excess skin, no doubts about that. But it's better to have excess skin without fat versus having fat and excess skin. It gets better over time. I did have a fairly significant tummy...

Re: 3 weeks Post Op - stand still

I hit a minor stall at like 3-4 weeks and decided to stay off the scale for 6 weeks. It was so cool to do that and just focus on eating the right things. And when I finally got on, I had lost 22#...
  13. Re: I see a lot of pre op diet people who can no handle it.

True, but with that said I failed the pre-op diet miserably. Horribly. I chickened out and pigged out the night before and cancelled my surgery. Was able to reverse course the next day and my...

Re: I did something really bad....

Yeah it wasn't a great choice but it's done and over with now. You had fluids that unfortunately had alcohol in them. Don't drink your calories, especially at this stage. If you behave at this...

Re: Sometimes scared sleeve might not work

It works if you work it so work it you're worth it. Haha, JK with that answer but yeah I had fears early on but honestly, you are in the honeymoon phase now so enjoy it. This is an amazing time in...

    Re: Easter Recipes

I'd make au gratin potatoes and then puree some of the, maybe throw in a dash of Unjury Unflavored after it's baked before pureeing.

    Re: Surgery Scheduled!

    Best of luck!
  18. Re: Deciding on the sleeve - what about wanting to eat big still

I totally agree with it. It is completely accurate for me and for what I see out there. Who doesn't lose weight the first 6-9 months? Then we start seeing regaining and talk of "getting back on...
  19. Re: Update on me....still losing after a year and 8 months.....

Masters of Social Work -- often they serve as talk therapists, like a psychologist, if they complete additional training and certification.
  20. Re: Deciding on the sleeve - what about wanting to eat big still

Traci - you will be fine! I vowed that my airplane trip to/from SAn Diego for surgery would be the last time I struggled to fit into an airplane seat. And it was!!
  21. Re: Deciding on the sleeve - what about wanting to eat big still

The numbers on people able to lose weight on their own successfully, and to maintain it for 5 years is less than 5% of obese people. So it's going to be tough. If you are more worried about fully...
  22. Re: Update on me....still losing after a year and 8 months.....

I agree! Get your B-12 and iron checked. I thought I was healthy as could be and gave up my sublingual B-12. Bad choice. I was catatonic for a few days until they tested it and gave me B-12...
  23. Re: Oh no, I do have loose skin... Thought I didn't... Help!

I worked out 1-2 times every day post-op and still had loose skin, it's just genetics. I had an extended tummy tuck (flank to flank instead of just hip to hip). It was worth it but it's a heck of a...

    Re: I felt McSick

Man, I'm jealous of all your capacity. I've had a 1/4 pounder on two occasions in the last year. No fries, but full bun and tolerated it well. I have a big sleeve. It's a good treat but not even...
  25. Re: Update on me....still losing after a year and 8 months.....

Sorry for your struggles. I would say just keep working at it until you start to like and love yourself. No sense in being miserable. I'd eat 6 times per day, had to force myself in the beginning,...
