    Re: Heartburn

All I know is my surgeon put me on a preventative med for 1 month after surgery, and after 1 month I didn't need it anymore. Talk to your doctor, he/she can help. You may need a prescription.
  2. Re: I wish someone had told me this 6 freakin years ago!!

Don't forget you're a ROCK STAR. You've got this. (I had never heard about RBM before either...) Had my surgery, saw the surgeon 3 months after, and then never again. No new information in SIX...

Re: Four Day PostOp. Check In

You won't lose weight at first because the hospital pumps you up with fluids. Before you know it the weight will just fall off. So much fun! For now get in your water and protein, whatever your...

Re: Hello Everyone I am scared!

Keep up with the research, and think positive. I'm 63 and had the surgery 6 years ago, got to a regular BMI and stayed there. It's life changing. It could add years to your life. I feel like I am...

    Re: Hello I'm new here

Sorry about your dad, but think of the advances in bariatric medicine made over the years. Just the invention of the sleeve is one! And most don't even do the lap band anymore because it had so...
  6. Re: I wish someone had told me this 6 freakin years ago!!

I have heard it described as when we lose weight we just shrink our fat cells. They are just sitting there waiting to get filled up again; they don't go away. The struggle is real! Wish you luck...

    Re: WW Issues!

I didn't have a weight problem while my kids were growing up either. We taught them healthy choices, always had dinner together. All three ate everything. It may have helped that we lived in San...

    Re: WW Issues!

My daughter told me I can't tell someone else how to parent, that I was at fault. I probably was, but I couldn't help myself. I think I'm getting snarky like Dr. Vuong with this February challenge....

It was really bad! I should have said, "Good for you, now keep fattening up your kid!". Craziness. Total waste of time.

    WW Issues!

I think most of you know I'm using Weight Watchers to maintain, go to meetings and weigh once a month for free. Accountability. I need it.

But I can't trust myself on their website "Connect." I...

    Water

OK, we all know water is important. I thought it was just to avoid dehydration.

You all know I've turned into a Dr. Vuong nut. Totally gone off the deep end. Could watch his videos all day. ...
  16. Re: Any plastic surgeon in Mexico - Abdominoplasty

I am thinking of doing it in the US. From the seminars I've been to it's not that expensive. But I'm still a little chicken. (OK a lot chicken). But I would love the tummy gone, even though it...
  17. Re: confusion about protein, fat and carbs post surgery

No carbs ever? That sounds crazy to me. Maybe he's talking about 6 weeks following surgery. But forever? Like you're going to go the rest of your life without ever eating a piece of pizza? Or...
  18. Re: does anyone actually get THIN after this procedure (not just LESS overweight/fat)?

In my opinion, just being mildly obese would be failing. Being overweight would be failing. I wanted to be a regular person, and I am. You can do it too! Watch some Dr. Yuong videos on YouTube,...
  19. Re: does anyone actually get THIN after this procedure (not just LESS overweight/fat)?

The doctor has to give you the statistics, but it's up to you. I got to a healthy BMI. I have to work to stay at a healthy BMI, even after 6 years. So it's totally up to how hard you are willing to...

Re: Had a stall in weight loss

Or just google the "Dr. V Diet" on YouTube and try that for a week. Get back to me and tell me how it went. It is really helping me shake things up after 6 years of eating eggs!! Having my...

    Re: Surgery in 6 days!

Can't help you there as I was self pay and just scheduled a date. I have heard with insurance the "typical" time between attending the introductory seminar and surgery is about 6 months.

    Re: Surgery in 6 days!

Your surgical team should give you a HUGE handout with everything you can eat and when. I had a schedule. Every Monday I started something new. NEVER think you can eat something not on the schedule,...

    Re: Eating Enough and Exercise.

That sounds nuts. Don't overeat, your stomach WILL stretch. Plus you aren't training to be an Olympic bodybuilder, you want to tone and shape up.

    Re: Hello I'm new here

Not to be harsh or insensitive, but if you want to be around to see those young children grow up, you need to lose the weight. If you don't want them taking care of you at a young age, you need to...
