Re: Scared to eat at 9 weeks out

Thanks eveyrone! And Nina, I will try that recipe. I eat solid foods, but the amount is so minimal that I hardly think it accounts for anything. I read some "sample menus" and think "How the heck...

Scared to eat at 9 weeks out

I have been losing steadily (50 pounds down!!!) and feel ok. I know for a fact, though, that I am not eating as much as I should. I take in maybe 300-400 calories a day. The problem is, I am...
  3. Re: Almost 6 weeks after surgery... pain and pouch distension

I also had surgery the same day as you. I was having persistent, horrible heartburn and burning in my throat as well. My dr. prescribed Nexium twice a day and my food intake/tolerance has...

Re: Today marks 5 weeks since my surgery

Thanks! Also, this morning, I took a shower and could wrap my shower towel all the way around me without flashing anyone! That was something I never thought about, but when it happened, I...

Today marks 5 weeks since my surgery

I have been on vacation for 2 weeks, and only been checking in on this board here and there. We got home last night. This morning, the first thing I did was weigh myself... *drum roll*

    I have...

    Re: Exsercising after sleeve

Pain subsides fairly quickly, I think the biggest part (for me) is the exhaustion. I get tired very easily and have to take frequent breaks. Just be careful not to overdo it.

    Re: Strange Sensation in Throat

I have a feeling that I describe as "pop rocks" in the back of my throat if I eat or drink something too fast or too big. It feels like tiny little air bubbles are hanging out in my throat. Kinda...

Re: I just gotta say it....

Thank you for the positive thoughts! I am almost 4 weeks post op, and I spend my days thinking of what I want to eat (when I can finally eat real food again). Good to know your energy level is back...

Re: I tracked my food intake today

My dr does not do post op blood work. :( If he did I'm sure he would not be happy!

I am on pureed foods, and it is tough. This morning for breakfast, I made a scrambled egg with (full fat)...
  11. Re: What was your "this is all worth it" moment?

Thank you, Kaye. I will certainly tell him :)

Also, I try to stalk these boards as much as possible, and there is a support group at the military hospital here. Once we get back from blocl...

I tracked my food intake today

    And now I'm sad.

I have been feeling really low on energy, and just blah. I am 15 days post surgery and just not getting the "hang" of my new eating lifestyle.

In total today, I ate 290...

    Re: The New Girl

I chose the sleeve after MUCH research. I know many people who have the lapband, and they either aren't happy or have gained their weight back. A couple have had complications with slipping, and it...
  14. Re: What was your "this is all worth it" moment?

My husband and I went on a marriage retreat this weekend. There was a buffet for EVERY meal and as I sat feeling sorry for myself, I realized that I was THE biggest wife at the retreat. That was my...
  15. Re: Why such different pre-op styles for docs? Seems so non-uniform....

My surgery was 100% covered through Tricare (military insurance). I had to go to a 4 hour seminar and a support group meeting all in one day. Then I had 2 vials of blood drawn. Psychiatric...
  16. Re: Endo and Infertility, anyone else dealing with this?

Although I have not been diagnosed with endo, part of the reason I had VSG was for fertility. I have 2 children from a previous marriage (10 years and over 100 lbs ago). My husband and I have been...

Re: What do I take to the hospital with me?

I took magazines, any personal hygeine stuff (I prefer my own over the hospital's), pillow, simple clothes, and a DVD player.

*Side note* - Kelley,I am from Mckinney :)

Re: Serious Question, please don't flame me

I am 5'9 and started at 255. I had zero presurgery diet, only liquids 24 hours before. My husband thinks that could be the reason. I ate what I wanted until the day before and my body lost all those...

Serious Question, please don't flame me

Although I am feeling hungry and sorry for myself, I have lost 20.4 lbs since my surgery on Monday. I have been looking through threads, and honestly feel like maybe I really AM starving! Did...
  24. Re: The head does not change I still eye ball food and the smells, oh my!

I am no help for this, except to say I am in the exact same boat. I will be 1 week post op tomorrow, and if I could suck the grease from a burger, I would do it. I have the "what-have-I-done"...
