acne and dry skin?

Hi team,
I'm three and a half weeks out from surgery and my chest, neck and jaw are covered in acne! I haven't had skin problems since my teenage years, about 17yrs ago. My skin is also quite dry and scaly but I think this is mostly where I've lost weight. Wondering if anybody else has had these side effects and if you found anything that helped? Thanks!

It happened to me as well....side effect of rapid weight loss I suspect. When getting out of the shower before drying off, I rub baby oil over my body, let it sit for a minute then pat dry. It helps keep the water in my skin. For my face area, Ive used coconut oil for yrs and it stays pretty smooth and breakout free....just dont use too much. It has antibacterial properties that can help with minor breakouts. Good luck:-)

I thought I was the only one. Started having these red,itchy dry spots . Went to my regular Doctor and she gave me some cream. The places that I put the cream on got better but I had more and more spots. Finally went to the Dermatologist. She took a skin scraping and said it was dry skin. Gave me stronger cream. We're I put cream the spots diminished but still had them. Went back to the Dermatologist last week and she actually took a biopsy. Haven't heard back from her yet. Never had this problem pre sleeve.

I had HORRIBLE acne after my surgery... I finally went to a dermatologist when it was still there after 4 months. They gave me an oral prescription for hormonal acne that cleared me up in less than a week and since then I just take one pill if I get a pimple and I don't get any more. So my advice is to go see a dermatologist!

I started to break out on my chest and face too. I brought that up to my doctor and he said that because I am losing weight so fast that the hormones in our bodies are readjusting. Kind of like puberty but in reverse lol. try to use cleansing wipes and dont use lotion.. I did that and it got worse, clogs the pores. It will get better.
