HELP!!! Someone used my identity to make a post!!!!
Good Afternoon, I'm very concerned someone used my name to make a post. They are trying to collect money for surgery. I would never do this and I paid for my surgery myself last month. The title was something cowboy. How could this happen? I reported it but haven't gotten a response. I saw this post supposedly by me and I was in shock. How could this happen? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Yikes! Other than contacting the administrators I don't know what to tell you. I did see that post and thought it was strange because I saw the original post by the guy trying to get money. Cowboy 104 or something like that.
Re: HELP!!! Someone used my identity to make a post!!!!
May be you clicked by mistake on "blog this post"? it did happen to me before: just go on the post, look for the "pencil" near the title, click on it then you can just delete it. Could be also just a glitch, you need to contact the admin.

Thank you everyone, I contacted the administrator but still haven't heard from them. Don't know how long it takes to hear from them. I'll go check for the pencil thing and try to delete. Tried something last night with no luck. Weird thing is I never clinked on his post. Found this a little disturbing.

Being a free forum, I am super vigilant with security settings I check them often. Also, not sure how often administrators respond for same reason.
Re: HELP!!! Someone used my identity to make a post!!!!
My suggestion is to immediately change your password. And make it very difficult. Use Caps, lower case, numbers and symbols. I work in It security and that is about all you can do to stop it in the future. Also, don't use "free wifi" in public places. Hackers sit on those networks and do packet captures to find people connecting using passwords in clear text to login. They steal those passwords and do exactly what they did with your account. Not saying that's how they did it with you but.... To stop that from happening, when you browse sites on "free wifi" or "open Wifi" use secure communications.
One example is http://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/s...64187&p=567637 is not secured comms. a simple change will go a long ways to protect you change the URL to https://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/...64187&p=567637. Do you see the difference? you simply change http:// to https://, the S is for secure. If the site supports it, it will use that while you browse the site. I would suggest that with all your browsing, it is just easy when you start doing it by default. Facebook is horrible with that. Just use https://www.facebook.com to login.
