Stalled
Hi all!
Saturday was my 2 week anniversary since getting my sleeve and I’ve stalled already, it started about 9 days after surgery.
I know it’s all part of the journey but still getting paranoid I’m doing something to stop the weight coming off, any tips on how to kick start everything again?

Re: Stalled
You answered your own question by saying "I know this is part of the journey." It is. It happens to all or us. My #1 tip is to hide that stupid scale, you don't need it. Just follow the program and you'll be amazed at the results. I let myself weigh one day a week only and recorded it in a journal while losing. During the whole process I gained 2 weeks, stayed the same 2 weeks, and lost every other week. Weighing now will only mess with your head.
This was also something I had to learn. At about the same time as you are now, I was crying on the phone to my nutritionist about my weight. How could I eat almost nothing and not lose!!! She talked me off the cliff. Makes no sense, but your body's totally confused and it's going to happen. So stay off the scale and avoid driving yourself crazy.
This works. Promise. Plus it's tons of fun!

Re: Stalled
Totally agree with Sharon. Stay off the scale. Its hard to do. The weight will come off. Don't worry, stalls happen. It's your body saying "What are you doing???"

Re: Stalled
Sometimes I had to remind myself to breathe and relax, stay off the scale, take measurements and pictures, drink a gallon of water, and follow the plan laid out for me by my Bari Team.
It was months before I had any significant weight loss. When my body wasn’t confused anymore, I was dropping 2 or more sizes per week!
It’s all perfectly normal. Log everything, stay off the scale. Stay positive. This is a marathon, not a sprint ;-)

Re: Stalled
Love WANAGL's comment - Stay positive! That's the most important part of this entire journey. Your positive attitude will take you all the way.

Re: Stalled
Great advice for Carolyn guy's, yep, ditch the scale for a while, your body is wondering what's happening, but it will adjust to your new food intake a will become a fat burning machine :D
I went through many periods of Wow Great! and times of Why haven't I lost? Just hang in there and try not to focus on the weight loss and take every day as a Victory! Everyone is in a hurry to loose just like me in a Hurry, then started thinking today is is my life..not yesterday..not tomorrow or next week.
Try to make some extra efforts in your day like when you wake up or in the evening walk around the block but take it easy and don't get light headed.
Congrats on starting your journey! you'll do great!!!

Re: Stalled
Yep, we know to expect stalls but when they happen they are really frustrating.
As long as you are following your surgeons/nutritionists instructions you will be fine.
Great comments from all above.
You are doing just fine.
