What is the best Protein Powder???
23 days out from surgery. This is my first time ever writing in a forum (please excuse any mistakes). Ok, so I've been drinking Oh Yeah! Protein shakes and they are becoming Oh No!, I just can't do them much longer. I'm trying to find a good protein powder I can mix into smoothies. Help please.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
I personally liked the EAS Advant Edge but seem to be having a hard time finding them now. I also like the Atkins Plus Protein and Fiber. They are low carb and 30g protein. A lot of people like Premier (to include my hubby who has not been sleeved but drinks them because we weight lift and need extra protein) but those always make me feel queasy for some reason. Not sure but something in them does not agree with me. You do have to be careful because not all of them have the right kind of nutrients that sleeved people need so read the labels carefully.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
Isopure is pretty okay and tasteless.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
You just have to try a bunch to see what you like. My suggestion is to go to the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC and buy ONE of whatever looks good to you. Don't buy anything in bulk until you know you like it.
I wasn't crazy about the creamy shakes so stuck to Isopure orange flavor diluted with a lot of ice at first. Protein and liquid together to count toward my goals.

I thought the Isopure flavors were really strong, and slightly odd. I had to dilute them with a lot of ice!
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
Totally agree with sraebaer, go to Vitamin Shoppe. The cool thing about them is that if you purchase a protein powder and you don't like it, you can return it. I love the Jay Robb protein powder. I normally get the vanilla. It's really good.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
I use Genepro bought it at GNC. It was recommended to me by two fellow sleevers. I mix it in my coffee in the morning to jump start my protein intake. Its 30 g per scoop. It changes the taste of things some but nothing terrible.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
Do you buy these things online?
Or is there an actual physical store, where I can buy them?
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
I know you can purchase Premier and Isopure from Amazon. I prefer Premier, but am trying out Isopure since the Premier are pretty thick.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
I have tried several kinds. I am currently trying to finish my Isopure cookies n cream and Isopure (supposed to be) unflavored. Do NOT like them at all. Last week I bought 2 sample packs of Genepro unflavored and that will be my go to from now on. I don't mind a green smoothie in the morning but not with the flavored junk. I only drink it because I'm a penny pincher and can't see wasting all that money. Oh but I'm struggling through it. I've tried making ice cream out of it, waffles, mug cakes, etc... it's just ick. To me. I really thought I would like the cookies n cream. Only thing I suggest with any protein powder is if you are going to add it to a hot liquid, mix it in a lukewarm first and then add that to the hot. I promise you don't want that gritty mess. Here are some sample websites you could try to see what works for you. I wish I had went to these sites prior to my Isopure purchase.

Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
I use Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard.
I assume it is available in the USA.
We get the 5lb size as both my partner and I use it. I have to admit that after reaching the end of the 5lbs I'm ready for a different flavour.
However I have recently discovered that I am able to source Torani Sugar Free syrups in NZ (yay!) and have been adding either caramel or hazelnut into the chocolate shake to make it a slightly different flavour. Looking forward to starting the salted caramel flavour when the chocolate is finished.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
You can buy Genepro on Amazon it's unflavored so you can mix it in anything you like. Also the serving size scoop is a lot smaller yet 30 g of protein! It's expensive but I feel it's worth it.I have tried others and the large serving scoop you need to use is just too much powder to mix in the small amount of food or drink that I can tolerate.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
Jay Robb you can purchase at Vitamin Shoppe, which is a physical store as well as Amazon.
Re: What is the best Protein Powder???
Amazon has a physical stores?
I didn't know that.
