Has anyone had surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview/Baltimore?
I live just outside DC and my surgeon is at Sibley in DC but my insurance is making me go to Hopkins in Baltimore. Just wondering if anyone has had their surgery at the Bayview facility. I looked at the ratings for the hospital and they are pretty low. Feeling a little nervous. Surgery is 6 weeks out...

Why did they make you change surgeons??
Re: Has anyone had surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview/Baltimore?
I didn't change surgeons. Sibley in DC is part of the Hopkins system. But my insurance says the Baltimore campus is a "Center of Excellence" so my surgeon needs to drive up to do the surgery at that facility bc they only cover surgeries done at Centers of Excellence.

Bayview is a really nice facility. My wife used to go there to see her specialist. I think someone in our support group went to Bayview and really liked their program.
PS,i was born in Sibley back in the Stone Age.

Thanks so much for the reply. I started looking at rankings of other hospitals and I guess it's not so bad after all. It would be so easy to go 2 miles to Sibley instead of 50 to Bayview, but that's a small price to pay. Congratulations on losing a whole person! You must feel great.

Thanks, I feel amazing. I am doing things I haven't done in years. Yesterday, I ran on the treadmill, 2 whole miles without stopping. Played a full round of golf today and felt great afterwards-I actually finished the round playing better than when I started. The last three holes I shot par, birdie-par-bogie. This is what you have to look forward to also.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I doubt I'll play golf any better but I do look forward to playing tennis again and yoga and...
