Is 800 calories ok for 4 months?
Hi everyone
Just want to know your opinion on calories at 4 months.
I am keeping it around 800 calories a day, 50-60 protein and very little carbs. My weight loss is very slow.
I am wondering if I should eat more? I am fairly active, play tennis 3 times a week and walk everyday.
Is my body in starvation mode and I am not loosing weight? It’s just so frustrating.
I am scared to eat more as I don’t want to gain weight, I am only half way reaching my goal.
I appreciate your input.
Thanks

It sounds to me like you are not eating enough. If you are following your doctor's guidelines, there is no way that you are overeating. Because you are active, you need to eat more because you are burning so many calories and now you have a teeny tiny stomach. Eat more good protein.

my dr told me 1200 calories ( im male) at 6 weeks out so....
Re: Is 800 calories ok for 4 months?
I think it depends on your output. I was eating around that for 6 months and exercising allot. It would best you ask the dietitian and see what she says. Everyone's calorie intake is different depending on their needs.

I was never told to count calories.
Re: Is 800 calories ok for 4 months?
I had only 2 dietitian appointments included in my package and I have used them already. Maybe I eat too little carbs., I don’t really know.
Re: Is 800 calories ok for 4 months?
I wasn’t told to count calories neither, but I do it anyway. I am just so afraid of not loosing counting calories make me feel like I am in control somehow. I can then say to myself “ you can’t not loose if you only eat 800 calories a day...” I know it’s strange
Re: Is 800 calories ok for 4 months?
I never counted calories. I think you aren’t getting enough calories and that’s could be why your weightloss is slow. Are you exercising daily? I drank 1-2 protein drinks a day. I like premier protein. I usually drank 1 p. Drink for breakfast & had a snack late morning. Like cottage cheese with fruit or nuts & cheese. I eat protein with veggies for lunch and dinner. Then add a protein drink sometimes after hard workout or after hard hike. If your burning calories and not getting enough your body goes into starvation mode and tries to hold until the weight. When I added the protein drinks it was a game changer.
Re: Is 800 calories ok for 4 months?
You don't really want carbs or to do much cardio. You want protein and to do strength exercises. Your body may think it's starving because of the tennis.
Overall through you are on a pretty standard path. People take between 6 months and 18 months to hit goal. Half your loss goal in four months is reasonable and people do have stalls.

Of course no! This is extremely not enough for your organism. You will lose weight, but with it and muscles, and all of your health simultaniously!
