Breath
Sorry if TMI but, I just wanted to poll y'all and see if this has happened to anyone else.
My husband has informed me that since my surgery (12/10/18) that my breath has rivaled the dog (nasty). I am super appreciative of the honesty and I wouldn't expect any less. I don't want to be the lady with the bad breath when I go back to work in 7 days. My husband has a hypothesis that maybe it is caused by my stomach healing? I think it might be because I am a lil on the dehydrated side and have been working hard trying to keep up with my water. I will be working even harder now.
Does anyone have any insight to this? I am a regular tooth brusher and flosser and have never had any complaints in the past. I am hoping this will pass as I work harder on my hydration situation!
Sorry again if it is TMI, but its the internet and I really have come to trust this forum on recommendations and knowledge!
Thank you!!!

Re: Breath
I believe there is a scientific reason behind this. Bad breath can occur during rapid weight loss. Maybe ketosis? I noticed this in the early stages of weight loss, but it seems to level out. I'm single so would have to breathe in a jar, to confirm this.

Re: Breath
Yes, you are in ketosis and that gives the bad breath.
As soon as you are starting to eat more and also more carbs, you won't have that problem anymore.
I felt like I had a dead bird in my mouth...

Re: Breath
Yes!! You must be in ketosis. I am going to put a link below but obviously, don't pay attention to the high fat, moderate protein part... if you like sweet potatoes (healthy carbs - in moderation), it could bump your carb intake just enough to keep you out of ketosis. Good luck!

Re: Breath
You are in ketosis. Good dental care and breath spray. This is a good thing for you in weight loss. Refer to my post regarding lessons I"ve learned over past 6 years s/p sleeve. You want to make sure you have 70% fat, 25% protein, and 5% carbs. I"m telling you carbs are CRACK! You will gain weight, stall weight loss, roller coaster etc. Also you may experience the carb flu. Transitioning from carbs for fuel to fat/protein for fuel. I have a remedy for this if you experience it. Most people do and don't know what it is.
Congratulations!
Sincerely,
Jen

Re: Breath
Well, we all react differently to things, don't we?
As for me personally, I don't eat simple carbs, just the complex ones.
And I am maintaining really well.
I never gained a pound.
I am a great believer in a personal path for everybody at his or her own pace.
What works for me may not work for you.
Cloga: you are still at the beginning of your journey.
This first 1,5 years you can and will learn all sorts of things.
What becomes you and what doesn't.
How fast you can eat.
What your full signal is.
How to not eat and drink at the same time.
And you will figure out, what is right fir YOU.

Re: Breath
You've had all the answers above.....but isn't it great when we have someone in our lives that can tell us when something like this is occurring?!
That's true love :-)

Re: Breath
Ahhhhh yes. Ketosis makes your breath disgusting. I had to chew a lot of gum. Extra teeth brushing, mouth wash. It will eventually subside. Also, be careful as I got thrush but it was during the all liquids phase.
