Day one post-op
Well it was a rough night of course. I am home now but I can barely get water to go down due to swelling. I will be happy to sleep in my own bed. Lots of pain and nausea at this point but I do realize that is part of the process. Hoping tomorrow will be better in all aspects.

Re: Day one post-op
Every day gets better. Sip the smallest sips possible as often as possible. Feel better!! Actually, sleep is my #1 recommendation for the first week. I basically slept all week. I kept a journal to track my liquids and protein drinks. (And the protein drinks count toward both goals).

Re: Day one post-op
Every day will be better and better.
Rest (sleep) and sip as much water as you can.
You'll be surprised how much better you feel in a couple of days. :-)

Re: Day one post-op
I am 8 days post op and I already feel much better. I had my first Greek yogurt today, and it went down with no problems albeit it took me 2 hours to eat a small cup. Sleep and drink very small sips, you will be surprised how fast you will improve.

Re: Day one post-op
Yay for you, I'm so happy everything went smoothly. The first 48-72 can be mentally and physically overwhelming, but as many have said, it really does get better each day. Sip, walk, rest, repeat.

Re: Day one post-op
I can’t really add anything to what the others have said. The first couple of days were challenging, but not overwhelming. Like others, I slept a LOT the first couple of weeks. Walk as much as you can, sip, sleep. You’ll feel much better in a few days. You got this!

Re: Day one post-op
Thanks so much! The worst for me is actually the phlebitis I have in my arm from the IV.
