I recommend liquid antibiotics!
Y'all, if you need to take antibiotics, I recommend you ask for liquid! Don't go through what I've gone through the last two weeks! Recap... I had two teeth removed and was prescribed Clindamycin to prevent an infection. I was faithful with taking it, not drinking from a straw and I quit smoking 6 years ago so I was good there. I had my alarm set every 6 hours to take my antibiotics. They caused heartburn so bad that I would wake up to throw up. I still ended up with dry socket. I went back for treatment, had it packed and came home. The pain never eased up. It just got worse. My kids couldn't kiss me on the cheek. I couldn't eat. Eventually the pain would be 24/7. I didn't sleep. I would get migraines from the pit of hell. Then I couldn't even touch my neck. On Monday, I called the dentist AGAIN and told them I wasn't taking no for an answer this time. I needed a liquid antibiotic and she HAD TO find out why this is happening. They made me an appointment for Tuesday at 8am. She went to look in my mouth, I was in tears just from her pulling my lip back to look in there. She said "oh wow, if it hurts that bad, I'm gonna have to numb you up again." So she did. It turned out that my jawbone was exposed. My gums didn't heal back together because the bone was exposed. She had to file down the bone which I felt, I will have you know! She said I needed to sit still. I didn't because it was unreal pain even being numbed. Well, it was a good thing that I didn't stay still because when I jumped, she accidentally stabbed me in the gums with her little tool and all the infection came out. It was definitely something she didn't expect to happen but I'm so glad it did. I slept 9 hours last night!!! That's more than I got collectively in a 4 day period! It's still sore but it feels so much better. So please, please don't risk getting worse before you get better. Get liquid! Oh! And I met my goal last week... I was just too sick to post it. :)
Re: I recommend liquid antibiotics!
Glad your doing better. Sorry you had to go through that, I know how painful that can be. I developed a severe infection in my teeth that spread into my Jaw from damage to my teeth not caught after a MVA. The sleeve surgery itself can make heartburn and reflux worse. Hopefully you won’t have anymore problems and continue to feel better.
Re: I recommend liquid antibiotics!
That hurts just thinking about it!
Re: I recommend liquid antibiotics!
Oh my how awful for you! Thank goodness you now have some relief.
I despair that we sometimes have to fight for what we need. Sometimes our bodies know best, not the medical professionals.
Re: I recommend liquid antibiotics!
I’m sooo sorry you experienced all that pain :-(
I’m happy to hear you’re on the mend. Good for you for insisting on what you needed.
Congrats on the goal!
I’m continuing to send All Good Thoughts and Prayers.
