If my sleeve was reversed I would be fat again in no time. I like that it is permanent.
Try the balloon ... and let us know how it works for you. Seriously!
Best wishes.
Ditto! Id start gaining back! No reason to have it back! I told them to throw it the chickens!
Lol good one
I considered it, but it is supposed to be removed after 6 months. Then if you want to continue with the loss of stomach volume that it provides, it needs to be replaced with a new one. If you let it go too long, it can break down and then be at risk of the balloon deflating, deteriorating & then causing an emergency situation. In fact these things can happen before that 6 months is up but it is more likely afterwards.
I wanted something permanent, because of my pattern of losing weight and then gaining it all back.
Seems like it could work well for some. I looked into it with Mexican surgeon but I need a permanent weight loss tool.
The problem, at least back in 2012 when I was researching weight loss surgeries, is that with the gastric balloon it is a temporary procedure. The balloon wasn't intended to be a permanent solution and must be removed, I want to say in like 6 months to a year if I remember correctly. For me, I knew that I needed a more permanent solution. With a couple of people that I had known to have the balloon they did lose weight, but quickly regained that weight once the device was removed. I hope the info helps you out some!
The issue with balloons and bands is yes they may be cheaper in the beginning but it's a life time payment. You have to pay to have them adjusted which in the long run cost more. I was sleeved in Dec 14 at 280lbs I now weight 156lbs I lost quick and no complications. I would do it all over again. Good luck in your venture to a healthier you!
I had the lapband done about 8 yrs ago and it was the best surgery I've had for weight loss and it was easy to go thru in mexico. the problem I had is when I got a re-fill in kansas from a different doctor and he punctured y lapband, so all my 70 pounds came back on. Now, I'm thinking about getting the lapband again for the sleeve i got 4 yrs ago didn't do anything for me.
There is no doubt in it that Gastric Balloon is less invasive non-surgical bariatric procedure that of surgical gastric sleeve surgery. But before considering and going for gastric balloon its very important to understand what is your targeted weight. Gastric Balloon procedure is mostly for those who are looking for 10-30 kgs of weight loss. But if your targeted weight loss is more, than gastric sleeve is the best bariatric surgery you can go for after consulting your surgeon. The chances of weight regain are less in this surgery. For long term weight loss one should maintain healthy lifestyle.
