Sydney NSW Gastric Sleeve Options
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to get the Gastric Sleeve Surgery as a very last resort on a life long problem that has wasted huge chunks of my life. I am in Sydney NSW and I have budgeted that I can reach $3000 for the gap in my health insurance to cover the surgery. However, despite all my family getting it done for between $1300-2500 in Perth I can't find anywhere in Sydney to do it less than $4950ish.
I am on a budget due to returning to uni to better myself two years ago with a year left on my degree but I can't wait as this is feeling more and more like a final option for me.
Has anyone at all found somewhere in Sydney that can match the Perth pricing. I am desperate.
Thanks for your help and support in advance.

Re: Sydney NSW Gastric Sleeve Options
Thank you so much. I started looking into this and as I have a mental illness that is also affected it may be a real option. This may be my savior. If anyone else is interested here is the link I found with the forms. (Oh sorry I wanted to post the link but I haven't posted enough yet. Hopefully someone else can help out there :)
Re: Sydney NSW Gastric Sleeve Options
Hi Gigglebites. I am using Dr Craig Taylor as my surgeon. He is based in Sydney. I am from Alice Springs. I just wanted to mention that if you go out of Sydney to have yours done then be aware that flights and accommodation can really add up. I didn't really factor that in until everything started falling into place. It is costing us twice as much as the surgery ($4995) cost just for those things. I don't know how other Drs are about patients coming from other regions of Australia, but mine wants me to stay in Sydney for two weeks. That is a major ouch in the wallet.I hope you work something out. Good luck!
Re: Sydney NSW Gastric Sleeve Options
hey again, you should be fine even without a mental illness, I think its because this surgery is more classed as life saving. I didn't know about the superfund way until my GP said it & then I went to a seminar at the at the surgeons office & they mentioned it there. that's the only way I can afford it after health fund & medicare. I really hope it all works out. keep in touch
