Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
I am 7 years post gastric sleeve. I'm 48 and my goal weight was 160 (which I hit and maintained) after my hysterectomy I just for no reason gained 28 lbs!!! I know my age and the procedure it self posed some resistance for me not being able to get this weight off but OMG it is so hard to move this weight... has anyone had a similar situation? if so do you have advice on what to do? HELP.
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
I feel your pain, but do not stress. I gained 20 pounds as well. I went back to Weight Watchers and it really helped me to be more mindful and to hold me accountable. Take out your sleeve bible and get back to basics. You still have restriction, just go back to basics. You can do it!
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
Thank you so very much! I was beginning to think I was in this thing alone!!! You are right I still have restriction and I have to go back to the basics. I appreciate your comment. I can, I will and I must. :-)
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
I did WW too and lost about 16 pounds. It's sort of tracking for dummies. (me)
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
I had my hysterectomy about 20 years before my VGS, but as to regain (anything above my "drop dead" number), I found WW tracking a great help. I do use MyPlate by LiveStrong, but honestly, WW made me feel more in control -- everything is different for every one
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
Thank you so much for the information, it is much appreciated! :)
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
I had my hysterectomy in 2013 before I had VSG in 2014. Now that makes me wonder if that's what encouraged me to gain weight. Hmm. I went from about 140 to 213 in 10 months. It blew my mind how quickly I gained that weight. That happened to me many years ago in 1999 after having my gallbladder out too... about 25 lbs in a month, but I was able to lose that without weight loss surgery and kept it off for years.
Re: Hysterectomy Blues....after sleeve
I am sorry you had the weight gain. Hope you are able to get those pounds off. I would cut some carbs out. Good luck.
