One year post breast lift/augmentation
Today is my boobies one year birthday! I can't believe it's been a whole year already. Some days I really like them. Other days I wish I'd stuck with just having the lift. They seem to ache/hurt a lot more than I anticipated, so that's not fun. But in honor of their first birthday, I went out today and bought them a new (to me) Yukon. Hooray! 😉😉 The Yukon will make my life much easier in being able to transport my daughter with her wheelchair and Walker.

Re: One year post breast lift/augmentation
Happy boobieversary!
I am so glad that overall you are happy with them.
Forgive my ignorance, but is painful something that happens a lot?
When you say "hurt", what do you mean exactly?
Are they sensitive to the touch, or hurt in general?
Congrats with your new car!
That will be helpful.
How is your daughter doing Katrina?
Re: One year post breast lift/augmentation
Oh Katrina, you made laugh! I no longer celebrate my boobieversary -- I had aug & resconstruction about 2010 after double mastectomy. Post VGS, they are a bit "hoochie mamma" (Southern term) for someone 67. And in the winter, I find them quite cold since they do take body fat with breast cancer. Nevertheless, my perkie girls catch the medical teams off guard, lol.
Congratulations on taking control of the things you can, and for living such grace in the things you can't! Well done lady!

Happy boobieversary! LOL ;))
Congrats on your new wheels. I’m happy to hear that it’s going to make your and your daughter ‘s life easier.
Keep on keeping on...;-)

Happy boobies's birthday!! they look really good!! the car too!!
Well, I will think twice before having any kind of reconstructive surgery again. My arm lift was very painful too, for almost a year (was done in July 2018) and I know it was important to remove all the tumors in my arms and legs so I would have done something anyway, not doing the lift meant getting several ugly scars, so the lift was more logical, but now there is dog ears and I will need a touch up...when I'm out of the wood, I don't know when, my iron levels are decreasing again....anyway...not before 2020 for sure!
I had a breast reduction (with tumor removal indeed) when I was in my 20's, was like a lift and getting some symmetry with the tumor gone. Was well done and saved my back from more torture (those were so heavy, one of my vertebra was on the edge of breaking) and really I had almost no pain post-op, except my back that was killing me for a few weeks from getting use to the "normal weight". The breast reductions did seem really complicated, it was almost painless, I was surprised the arm lift was so painful. But a plastic surgeon told me actually arm lift is more complicated...oh well...what's done is done...
Hopefully my dog ears can be done under local anesthesia, one day...

Re: One year post breast lift/augmentation
Thanks, you guys!
Dutchie, So, they hurt in general by aching. They hurt to touch because they feel like they are in a perpetual state of waking up. You know that tingly icky feeling when a body part falls asleep? That's what the feel like. For months and months I didn't have any nipple sensation, now it feels like a lightning bolt when they are touched.
My oldest daughter had an augmentation done in March. I asked her yesterday if hers are like mine. She says she has random pain in her left one and her incision is super itchy. I think she's much more pleased with hers. I don't know if mine is more grumpy because I also had the lift, but I had the lift 4 months prior to implants and they were FANTASTIC then. On the bright side. My husband is happy they're there though he misses my giant saggy bags because he is a weirdo.
Meg has been doing amazingly well the past few weeks. Her physical condition is not any better, it never will be, but mentally has been a great few weeks. She's gotten out of the house and participated in life more in this last month than ever. I'm so happy for this!!! This was us (baby daughter, me, Meg) yesterday at my grandson's 3rd birthday party.

Annie, I have the same experience with mine being cold. On the flip side of that, I lay out by the pool topless, and those suckers get boiling hot. I can only stand about 10 minutes before i have to put a top on.
Sandra, my mom is interested in the arm lift. Would you recommend it? Are the scars worth it? They wouldn't be worth it to me, but everyone is different.
Re: One year post breast lift/augmentation
Boobie birthday hooray!! They look awesome. I think your issues is based on your surgeon. So I have a friend who had similar issues with both her boob job and tummy tuck she had from the same surgeon. She had random tingly and numb spots. (Ironically she is not a WLS patient.) I have several other friends who had absolutely none of those issues. Hopefully you can get it all sorted. Congrats on the new ride.

Katrina,
Happy Bobbieversary!!! Congrats on the Yukon!
I went for a consult for a TT and Breast Lift. I've always wanted a BL, and losing and gaining and losing weight over the years and with surgery, I have an apron, so a TT is needed. The plastic surgeon quoted me $20,000 for both. I contacted my insurance and they will cover the TT, if it is not for "cosmetic reasons." I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do.

I happy to know about Meg, that's very good news!!
For the lift...I mean....it's complicated:
PROS
It's not painful anymore to exercise or do some heavy cleaning, with wings flapping around it was really bad
my skin doesn't get stuck in narrow sleeves when I wear jackets
it does look better...a lot better
in my specific case, I got all the tumors out at the same time, one stone two birds!
I'm not 50 yet and can enjoy at least 20 years with arms looking "almost normal" which is amazing, I had big arms almost all my life
CONS
was painful and healing took a long time (like 10 months with some heavy to medium pains)
the scars are well hidden, for that I was lucky, but it was red for several months and you can see the scar if my arms are up...it's now pink and not red, but it will be obvious for a few more months, the scars are large
I will need a touch up (dog ears to correct) and not happy about it
I was 46 when I had my arm lift, I don't think I would have done it if I was + 60...I mean...comfort and esthetic are not worth the risk after 60 in my book, but I might change my mind when I reach that stage...who knows (60 is the new 40!!)...I was planning on having a tummy tuck done, my kangaroo pouch is empty and big, making a big fold...but after the arm lift story I changed my mind...I need to get better before anything else...plus next one will be correcting the dog ears ...may be next year....

I had a TT & BL and next to the sleeve itself, it was the second best decision I ever made. I know there are all kinds of horror stories out there about the TT but I can honestly say that I didn't have any more pain and recovery than the sleeve surgery. The drain tubes were annoying, but not painful. You can barely see the scar now and only if you are looking for it. *Not that I have anybody besides the happy hubs near that area anyway LOL.
It made all the difference in how I looked and felt in clothing. Money well spent IMO.

Thank you! I keep going back and forth trying to decide when I know I really want it!

I'm 61 and would LOVE to have the arms done, TT and breasts done. I look like a saggy mess and feel 40.
