Greetings from Steamboat Springs
Tomorrow I am going in for a consultation for gastric sleeve surgery. The surgery will not be covered by my insurance, which is disappointing. It is still necessary, though, so I have a plan in place for how to pay for it. The doctor I am seeing is Dr. Thomas Brown in Parker, CO. If anyone has any experience with him, I would love to hear some feedback.
I would really love to hear from people who are maintaining weight loss for three or more years.

Welcome aboard. Several of us are self pay, and the benefits truly have exceeded the cost. :)

Quite a few people here 3-4-5 or more years out.

I was self-pay 5 years ago. Worth every penny! $14,000 to be a healthy, regular-sized person, best money I ever spent.
Plus you live in CO so will get super skinny climbing mountains! Hubby is doing Ride the Rockies in a few weeks and I will be there to hike. (I'm regular sized, but KNOW I'd be skinny if I could climb a mountain every day).

Welcome Jen. Stinks that your insurance doesn't cover WLS but many do not. Wishing you a successful surgery with an easy recovery.
