Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
Hello all.
I am having issues..... I have stalled. I am frustrated and cheating. It all started with the Easter baskets and stress. A kiss here reece's there. and now I'm having issues getting back on track. I'm not getting my water in and eating things I know I am not supposed to eat. On top of that, I am retaining water! I would go to my wls support group but cannot until next Thursday. So, I'm reaching out here!
Any advice?

Get Back On Track! Good luck:)
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
Been there, done that. You know what you're doing wrong, just start doing the things that you know you are not doing. Get your water in, start eating well, get back on the horse! You can do it!
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
Sorry to hear you're struggling a bit. I'm an October 2018 sleever myself. Hate to see someone going through bumps in the road. A good webpage to review is 5daypouchtest.com
This plan can help you get back on track. It is a condensed version of the weeks following your surgery. It's only 5 days, and you can do anything for 5 days. I know you can if you did pre-surgery and post-surgery diets. It will break the carb cycle you're in, get you back on track, and reinforce what you should be doing.
Just do not go back to eating unhealthy after the 5 days. Use it to break your current carb/eating issues and get back on your healthy post-surgery diet. I have used this in the past when I find myself struggling or needing to reset things back to normal.
It may not work for everyone, or there may be people that don't see it as a good thing. I don't know. I don't really care what others think. But, can't hurt to give it a read. It's helped me. Good luck and stay strong. You can get over this bump! Strong mind and strong body!

Stalls are really frustrating aren't they?!
You really just need to make up your mind to get back on track. Only you can do this. :-)
Go right back to the beginning. Concentrate on getting your water in, protein, then if room good veg. Get rid of anything in the house that might tempt you. Really, get rid of it. Put it in the rubbish or give it away. Temptation is something you don't need at the moment.
Get moving too. Walking or whatever exercise you like but get out there and do it.
You can get back on track and you will start losing again.
Hang in there.
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
Gah. The sweets are a slippery slope. The more you have them the more you crave them. I would try to detox and see if you can go back to shakes, lean protein, and veggies only. Set yourself a timer so you can remind yourself to drink your water. Every time you feel the urge to get something you shouldn't get up and go for a walk, have water, anything that will prevent you from caving in. Good luck. You can do this. Remember what it was like to be obese...you don't want to throw the towel in and go back to being obese.

Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
We all stall, but you need to get back on track and cut the crap. You can do it! By not eating sugar and bad carbs you stop craving it, really! Good luck.
I don't think there's such a thing as "cheating," just getting off track. I won't spend the rest of my life never having a piece of Easter candy, the difference is we have to control it to small amounts. From a Grandma who stole the ears off a grandkid's bunny.
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
I needed this post today. I am also going through a stall and have done some back sliding with the Easter candy. Those Reeses are just so good.
Also a new ice cream shop opened in town and had some great specials....Thankfully no weight gain but the sugar foods are so addictive.
I am going to get rid of all my cheater foods. We can both do this.
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
For all y'all who haven't yet reached your weight loss goal, here's are two tips that will help you so much!
1. Go through your kitchen cabinets, car, work desk, etc. and throw away ALL the candy, cookies, cake, and savory crackers and other crunchy carb snacks you are tempted to munch on. Don't give it away. Just throw it away. Better in the trash than your stomach or someone else's. That stuff is not only worthless to your body, but harmful. They shouldn't even call it food.
2. Don't buy any more of it.
It's just that simple. Really. I promise. Not kidding.
Later on during maintenance, when you're adding calories and more food varieties you can experiment with "treat foods" like that to see how YOUR body tolerates them. Some do. Some don't. But that all happens later. In the meantime and until then ... remember all the good reasons you came to this party. :)
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
If you are still stalling, may I suggest you go read my multitude of posts concerning stalls. I found a way to bust them and to never get another one again. Worked for me and many, many more on here. Not saying it will work for you, but, what do you have to lose.....well.....besides your weight which you’re not losing anyway.....
Re: Help.... I'm stalled and cheating
personally, I went back to eating sweets at about 6 mos post sleeve.. worst mistake I've made in my life. I am an all or nothing gal. sweets are my downfall and I started gaining, and reflux got really really bad. held on for a while and then went for testing when I got chest pain from reflux. revision to bypass (which I should've had in first place bc I had reflux but i'm not bitter) and promised myself i'd NEVER EAT SWEETS AGAIN. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
